to ya sir!

SaurierDNA says:

Wow, you are a good teacher, handy details, well explained. Could you have
a fix like this for the heatercore of a w210 mercedes from 1997/1998…
That would be a dream come through

not.

Will this work on a 2005 ford escape?

Levi Edens says:

I used this video to help me take the heater core out of my 2000 Mercury
Sable which is the same pretty as far as i could tell. I found that taking
the 6 bolts out and taking the center console out made a lot more room to
help with putting in the new one or taking out the old one. (Which they did
in the video but didn’t mention doing) Cutting the bracket off made for
more room and would probably be hard to do without taking off but when I
put everything back together I had a plastic kick panel that popped into
one of the holes. There is a tool to help assist taking the hose clamps
off. They are like locking pliers and cable with a end that squeezes the
clamp together. This is a very helpful video! Im glad I watched it before
starting. Thanks for posting!

mazmad5 says:

Thanks for the video, Changed the heatercore in my 2000 ford Taurus
yesterday and it only took about 2 hours. Cutting that bracket was
brilliant! Thanks again!

FordTechMakuloco says:

I used to do it this way at my shop without cutting the bracket, MAN WHAT A
PAIN! See my channel on how to pull that dash in 10 easy minutes and this
job will be cake!

Gregg Roten says:

I just did one today in a 2000 S-10 and it was a lot easier than any you
tube video I found! Not to be offensive to anyone but the video of a guy
taking 17 hours and a bumper and fender off is WAY to long of a job!! about
8 bolts and a few wires to unplug and the dash was out.

Tina Kostos says:

Will this work on a Chevy 99 s10 ??

garzon2910 says:

Thank you it really helps

Beau Hill says:

Thanks good video

downN1dirty says:

Would this work on an 01 jeep grand cherokee? Has anyone tried?

Gandoff2000 says:

Your video was very helpful but of course being an amateur mechanic it took
me longer than 1 ½ hours to complete. I would also like to note that when
removing the core you have to be very gentle with the lever that runs in
front of the core cover. If the plastic pieces that hold the lever in place
break then you have a new problem. The lever will not stay in place unless
you rig it somehow as I did. That was s real pain. After all that I do have
heat and winter is coming soon so I am happy.

HUBBABUBBA DOOPYDOOP says:

THOSE DAMN UAW ROBOTS !!

James White says:

totaly awsome works great ive done same job many times and his way was way
easier. as far the hanger and the plastic wire hold back that attahes to
it. its called zip ties people. Almost all short cuts require modifacation.
How ever you can also cut that hanger with out power tools by grabing the
hanger with a pair of plieres and pending it back and forth.

churuscan says:

If one of them is cold while the other is hot then the cold one is clogged

Richard John says:

might as well rebuild the transmission too while its in the shop.

211kidsrus says:

Did this short cut repair on a 2002 Ford Taurus yesterday. To disable the
air bag, just pulled the fuse under dash & disconnected the neg. battery
cable. It would be a good idea to take a picture of the linkage in front of
the heater core cover with your cell phone to show how to put it back
together. You will need a small screw driver to wedge inside the shaft of
the linkage pivot to release it.

phonky1 says:

Thanks for the video!!!

Engage Overdrive says:

If the core is not leaking, why remove it? If there is blockage, why not
first remove the hoses at the engine and reverse flush the blockage out? If
it works after that you saved a lot of money.for a half hour’s work.

Cameron Bean says:

I need a new heater core on my ford. If this guy can save me 4 hours of
labor time at the shop, I WANT THE BRACKET REMOVED. I don’t care if the
robot assembly arm can no longer assemble my dashboard. Most mechanics
don’t have those, and will not be using them. If you do have one and you
use it, I am impressed. Also… “piss poor”. Just saying.

giantAsFan says:

Hi is there a way to test my fuel pree regulator on my 95 Tacoma 2.4
automatic,it has a slight miss at idle and hesitation when
acceleration,what can cause this?

Alexander Keller says:

really saved my ass. thank you

wotan237 says:

Help…..Can this work for a 2000 Suzuki Vitara ?

D Wilson says:

Wouldn’t you have noticed this issue before you cut off the bracket? Seems
it would have been hard to miss.

mazwt44 says:

If you take a look at Eric the car guy.. he yells you how to unclog a
heater core without replacing it… save time and money

DEVILDOG502 says:

Nice vid i use alldata for this did in no time!

Jason Davis says:

Your are a lazy ass mechanic. I do that job in an hour and do not cut
anything

DARKHADO says:

is there a shortcut for a 95 lexus gs 300

jbefumo says:

Has anyone determined whether this applies to other generations of Taurus?
From the comments and the video, it appears to work for Gen 3 (’96-’99) and
Gen 4 (’00-’07). Anyone tried on earlier models?.

211kidsrus says:

To remove the heater core hose used a hose clamp tool or needle nose vice
grip and channel lock. Pinched the hose clamp from under the car & another
person using a big screw driver from above slide the clamp forward. Used a
channel lock rocking it left & right to break heater hose seal. With one
person lifting the passenger dash side up did not have to remove the
bracket. Save $750.

BrianLeeUSA73 says:

Very good idea!!!!

Qbasic8 says:

I’m partial to your comment. I am an ase certified tech myself. I can do
this job in 45 minutes. I have NEVER had to cut the bracket off nor bend
it. I pull the dash back far enough that I sit the right corner on the
seat. Have more then enough room to remove the core. I did not like how the
right scuff plate was being bent back when he was pulling on the dash. But
the bracket does not hold the dash. The bolts he shows are all the bolts
required.

ClubVic312 says:

I just took the heater hoses off and all dash trim on my wifes 98 Sable I
don’t have any air tools at the house, I hope I can lift the dash far
enough to remove the core, Does any one know if I need to drop the steering
column ? I’m doing this in the driveway Thanks Dave Wood Here’s my Number
if anyone has any more tips 908 349-8785

DOLRED says:

Did this job on another Ford…Others advise to jam cloth or something else
in those open core ports before yanking the core—or you may end up with
cruddy antifreeze on your carpeting from spilling whatever is stuck/left in
the core. .
