when you take the variable cam off is there any special way to put back on

3865roofer says:

If you buy the timing belt kit and you have 2 pulleys only you will have
to go to ford Orileys autozone both ordered kit that suppose to fit 1999
2002 they don’t fit the 2 pulley one the pulleys are different sizes

automotiveDIY says:

loosen the bolts while the belt is still attached.

bryancarz says:

This is one of the easiest engines to replace the timing belt on once you
have the special tools and perform the procedure properly. The special
tools are VERY inexpensive. You are just asking for trouble coming up with
hacker methods to get it done.

The countour gl doesn’t have the cam, well what ever that thing is on the
right cam sprocket, just tdc.Remove valve cover, look down at crank pully for
the tdc mark. This is a non interferance head so don’t worry about the
valves being hit by piston. Tdc the # 1 piston useing a wire close hanger
or something simular until piston is up and tdc @ crank pully
mark,Counterclockwise cam sprockets off # 1 lifters.Replace idlers AND
WATER PUMP on GL Models’internal water pump’. ‘Added Suggestion’ Nice vid.
