@XXXCompAssesXXX I would take the Mariner as it looks much classier. Maybe
on the resale value side, it would be more difficult to sell because of the
Mercury brand being gone. But it’s just obvious that Mariner is 99% Escape.
Other than that neither is better than the other on a performance,
mechanical, & reliability standpoint.

One of my teachers has the older generation of this, as far as I know it’s
a nice truck. Do you think you can do a Mountaineer?

talldude123 says:

These were gas guzzlers too, no better than the 4.0L Explorer’s.

Intechdude300 says:

@alec1381 But I’ve heard they’re pretty much rectified once truly fixed.
Many had returning issues cause even the dealers didnt know what exactly
what was wrong. Some just reprogrammed it in a way so they continue working
but the problem would comeback worse then ever. Dont know if the 6F35 has
been fixed for late 2010 & early 2011 but early 2010’s still had issues
even in the 2010 Fusion. Wish Ford had stuck to the 6F50, 6F55 & or even
the Aisin TF-80 which have all been rock solid

Intechdude300 says:

@fanowner12 Sure

talldude123 says:

@Intechdude300 Okay, stand corrected. Friend of mine has a 2002 Escape 3.0
and said he only got 18 highway and 15 city but I guess he’s a harsh driver
then. Because I believe the Explorer 4.0’s got 13 city/18 highway

@JamalGibran ohh i thought it was just an extra gear that was givin so you
can kickdown for more power at speeds over 60+ MPH

Shawn Wade says:

have you done a review of a 04-08 Grand Prix?

Imad S says:

Fuck badge engineering.

Vulgora says:

mpg isnt as bad as i would have thought 17-20-24 awd 19-21-25 fwd too bad
its not more of a traditional suv with rwd and diff controlls and 5 speed

Intechdude300 says:

@talldude123 Those 2002 Escape V6 were supposed to do 24 but the 4 spd auto
really drains the MPG, the engine wasn’t as refined and the Accelerator is
so touchy. I drove a few of those oldies & the damn thing tear the front
wheels with nothing and once rolling, even the lightest throttle input
kicks down a lower gear. The 2008 still with a 4 speed is much better
likely because electronic throttle helps better control everything. But the
6 spd auto in 2009 really helps deliver MPG’s

XXXCompAssesXXX says:

Would you recommend this car over let’s say a normal Ford Escape?

fanowner12 says:

@SubieSean Yes, I know, but I call SUV’s trucks.

SubieSean says:

What exactly is overdrive?

Jonathan Altieri says:

I’ve never been impressed with the Escape and Mariner. The back seat is un
comfortable and there on the noisy side.

SubieSean says:

@fanowner12 It’s an SUV.

Vulgora says:

that has got to be the smallest , least detailed gas gauge i think i have
ever seen

Intechdude300 says:

@fanowner12 I still have a habit of that & you’ll find in in some of my
vids too, even with vehicles like this. Recent months I edit that out when
I say that lol.

TJC450 says:

I like these over the Escape. But Mercury is gone now.

chevyguywithaford24 says:

Bout to buy one tmro

Intechdude300 says:

@talldude123 2009 Mountaineer 4.0 V6 2WD does 19 MPG Hwy, 2009 Mariner 3.0
V6 FWD does 26 MPG Hwy The 2.5 4 Cyl of the Mariner does 28 MPG Hwy. Theres
a big difference there!!!
