I made this video for a client of mine who had a faulty Electronic Steering Lock in his W204 Mercedes Benz. W204 is the chassis number for any C Class vehicle model year 2008-2014.
This is a very common failure. I can repair your ESL or program an emulator to replace it.

If that lock solenoid needs power to unlock the wheel, does that mean if I'm driving at 60mph and for whatever reason (fuse blows, battery fails, wiring break, solenoid coil burns out, etc) that the steering lock then prevents me from steering? Yikes…
In my 350cgi I don’t hear that is to a problem ?

Mines doing the same Will a bad ESL cause the dash lights to not turn on at all the car locks and unlocks radio even turns on but when I put the key in no dash lights come on or you can’t hear the lil zipper noise or nothing I replaced and programmed the EIS I’m wondering if it could be the ESL please help I remember when it was driving it wouldn’t turn on sometimes it would take a few tries

Hi. I have a w204 with what it looks like the same issue. Had someone come with a OBD2 reader and it read: C121 No Can message was received from control module engine control system. D10B No can message was received from control module engine control system. C164 Can control communication with control module air conditioning is faulty. C126 Can communication SCM/MRM is faulty. C167 communication with electronic ignition switch EIS/EZS is faulty. Even the technician couldn’t tell me what the culprit was. Paid him $160 just to be just as clueless if not more
How do you know when is bad ?
Is this the same problem if the steering is unlocked and there's no ignition lights and key don't rurn?
