yes the w201 has only the lower front balljoint
thanks good to know, I got a 190e, which I believe is slightly different and only has a lower ball joint, but i’m a mechanic so it’s good to know if I ever run into a w202
You’re very welcome…more coming soon
This is really apreciated! Big thanks from Norway! 😀
I’m glad my videos are useful to you…My intent is to show people how to save some money and also to show that many of these repairs are fairly easy if you take a bit of time..it is always easier to understand how it all works once you have seen it done. I appreciate the comment..good luck 🙂
I also appreciate all these videos, I think that I can do most of the repairs myself. I took my car into the dealership and some of the things that were wrong with it, are repairs you have made.
thanks for the kind comments…just had light clunking when hitting bumps/potholes…I had replaced the lower balljoints and that solved the clunking except for a faint clunk from the drivers side which got worse (stripped upper balljoint nut) I had to replace the upper because of the stripped nut…the new one was so much more solid feeling over bumps that I did the passenger side as well…so more solid and tighter is how it feels now…not so vague
Excellent videos! You should have your own show, seriously. I have a 97 C230 with 160k miles. The upper control arms and upper ball joints have never been done. Lower ones have been done. I’m not sure if I need to do the upper control arm balljoint. The front-end doesn’t feel like it used to.
– What kinds of signs/symptoms did you have telling you the upper control arm balljoints needed to be replaced?
– What does it feel like now after replacing the upper control arm and balljoints?
LOVLY
