That oil is the colour of tar, i wonder why after only 7500k’s
Thanks for posting this. I have a W124 with the M103 engine and did this
change this weekend. I hand tightened the filter and then foolishly went to
tighten it the remaining 3/4 of a turn with a belt style wrench. Just
before the last bit of tightening it dented the filter slightly. Of greater
concern, I added 5 qts of new oil but didn’t see anything on the dip stick.
When driving on the highway the oil light came on, so I added 2.5 more qts
and the light turned off. Any idea what the issue could be? Why would I
need to add so much? On the 4 MATIC I thought the reservoir was only 6.5 L
or so.
