Hi Ken. Stumbled onto you YouTube channel / website a couple of months ago and have found your blog and vlog posts very helpful. I noticed you mentioned in a later post that you had some problems with CRL customer service (I believe relating to a fitment issue with your T-Vent. Correct?). That said, I'm trying to decide between the CRL T-Vent and AMA screened Half Slider and wanted to get your feedback on the CRL T-Vent now that you've been using it for quite some time. Any issues with the vent opening / closing? Any other quality or fitment issues worth pointing out? Would you purchase the T-Vent again or go with a different mode / manufacturer? Any feedback you can provide on CRL and the T-Vent in particularly would be very helpful. Thanks!
Where can you buy the window?
You cut two supports, did you have to add any reinforcements?
That is definitely not how to cut a hole in a van! All those metal cuttings aagggh
Cool music!!!!
Oh my, you are cutting a brand new van !
is that the grey blue color?
Oh yeah Ken and his Van is the BEST Build that I have seen… I have seen a thousand builds.. But Kens is the best 1# by far.. only thing I would do different is maybe a aluminum frame bed with a hinge so it can go into ( couch mode ) during the day.. Talk about a Perfectionist Kens all that and more.
How scary is that to cut out for a window LOL…we are getting ready to do this also…
Hi Ken,
Wow, great content. I think I have viewed all of your Sprinter videos. Well worth purchasing all of my parts from your site store.
My daughter and I are about to begin a conversion. We just ordered a new 4×4 and couldn't find OEM installed swivel seats. Do you have the order code you used? Production starts in two weeks, maybe they will accept the change order.
Thanks,
Jim
When you initially drilled the holes before you cut, did you just drill based on the inside lip of extra steel or was there a template you used to determine where to drill the holes? Very nice work!
I love your videos! You're so cute and smart!
Was there any adhesive used? How does the window stick in place?
Cheers!
Great video Kenetube! I have been following your build and you are an invaluable resource.
Question, when you used the jigsaw from the outside, did it just cut straight through the vertical supporting bars on the inside? I was unsure when those got trimmed.
Hello Ken – great videos! Say, I know its been a while, but regarding your CR Laurence T Vent window behind driver – do you have a number? Reason I ask is, I see a few listed and it looks like yours is a DUAL T Vent. I have a 2011 144 and would like to add that exact window, but I don't see it listed for my model year. Thanks!
What an excellent build you have! New subscriber 🙂
I was curious if the aftermarket window you're using can have the glass panels replaced from exterior, or when finishing interior will access to frame be necessary If you have broken glass? Thank you!
Why didn't you just get a van with windows? Obviously you have $$$ Seems a bit odd…
Ok … definitely gonna follow your build!!!
Where did you get the window?
We did our windows this way and it worked so good! It was scary at the beginning but we are so happy we did it! http://van-derlust.com/installing-the-windows/
