Can you help? Sometimes my key doesn’t work with my car. Merc w203. The central locking doesn’t work and i have to open the car with the mechanical key. When i insert the Key into the ignition nothing happens, steering lock won’t release. If i take the negative of the battery for a few hours everything seems to work again. Ive been told it’s an Eis problem? Thanks
Hello Mark,
Yes I did set the coding with our Compact 4 afterwards. The EIS only comes with basic coding as you know. You have to set model, r/h/d , engine , etc.On this car there is about 30 codings. The replacment unit has many more settings than the old because to covers more than one model. If you transfer settings from old unit, many things will not be programmed correctly.
