This helped me a lot thanks

This does

fupabox says:

yeah it looks like you may have to start taking the front air intakes apart and see what else you can find hiding in there..

Mosafi1011 says:

So i pulled it out again. This time after i took out the filter i blasted the A/C to blow everything out. I as well cleaned out the lower fan motor cover. Still i hear that sound. I opened up the hood and on my left passenger side of the hood i found tons and tons of leaves. Still in the process of cleaning it out. Do you think that may be the issue? I also ordered a new filter.

fupabox says:

try pulling the filter again ,and see if you can vacuum anything else out, also remove that lower fan motor cover and vacuum out that as well

Hello, just want to say your videos have helped me alot on my W202. I have a question. I cleaned out my filter on my car. IT was really full of leaves and junk. The cabin air filter was changed all ready a while back, 5 months ago about. The noise though is still their. Should i remove my wiper and try to look for leaves? I saw your other video on how to remove the wiper. How much further should i go down? Thanks you so much!

Mat Cendana says:

No mention of it in the bill:-( But that doesn’t automatically mean the guy didn’t replace or at least clean the filter and its compartment. I often go there to repair the car, including having a top overhaul late last year, and I know they are thorough. But I’m going to open it up myself and see. Or go back to the shop and ask them whether they remember.

fupabox says:

fingers crossed that it has been replaced

Mat Cendana says:

Yup, I have a W210 E200 with the M111 engine and I’ve learned something new today. I didn’t even know this filter exists! God knows what its condition is. Hopefully it has been replaced… should have because I had a new compressor installed with a few other things a couple of months ago. Am going to check the repair bill to see if there’s any mention of a filter. I’m going to provide this link at the local (Malaysia) Mercedes owners’ group. Might be something new to many of them too.

fupabox says:

very welcome..thanks 🙂

Trance Lord says:

thanks for the informative vid man, you’re awesome

Remember the old bumper sticker “Ass, gas or grass. Nobody rides for free!” ?? Vermin!

fupabox says:

yeah anything’s possible..unwanted passengers are no fun 🙂

samberlyrocks says:

Everything seems in check. Perhaps the previous owner kept the car in a garage with the windows down. Strange

fupabox says:

wow ,really..lol..check the rubber drain plugs in the bottom of the spare wheel well

samberlyrocks says:

Finding your videos most helpful! Just bought a 97 c280 4 weeks ago! Love it! I also found leaves and some acorns in there, but I also found acorns under the rear seats and in the spare tire well. How could an animal get in? Thoughts? Thanks, Sammy

Excellent video! CrACKED me up. Thanks for posting.

NFZ41 says:

Thanks for the video. I also cleaned mine with your instructions.

fupabox says:

that’s possible…never thought of it :)

BAYERNEMPIRE says:

White lithium grease, or Silicon lubricant that does not burn or have odor. just don’t use too much on plastics! It might “eat” it, and ruin it if too much is applied!

BAYERNEMPIRE says:

Maybe its louder, because you were parked. Making the blower motor act harder to keep the consistency of air coolness and air flow. And when you drive you assist in this process making it easier for the blowers to do their job. And you might have not noticed this until you did the video, and in real time! But I could be wrong too! Viel Spaß beim Fahren!

Eli zurita says:

great video thanks.

dunca321 says:

Where in the world did you find a 7 dollar filter? In the US they are 20 and above!

fupabox says:

yes.. good idea with the silicone..that never crossed my mind, great tip 🙂

butterfahrt says:

Thank you for this very helpful video, big compliment for the gymnastic contortions, to record this video. There is very little space, and inhale the dirt is not funny. But after renew the filter everything is quiet and nice. Helful is to spray the slide clips with silicone spray, before moving.

fupabox says:

it’s possible that if there was junk/leaves stuck in there and absorbs water/snow it would blast humid air in and fog the windows..could also be a leaking heater core..but yes most likely it is clogged drains and filter

bennyvega100 says:

Thanks for the video! I’ll have to give this a try…could this help with a problem of windows fogging up in cold weather?

wadej88 says:

Just did this myself, thanks for the tutorial!
I found the filter itself quite hard to remove/install due to the fact there was basically no room for the filter to come out, had to bend it to get it out. If anyone is about to do it themselves makes sure to reaallyy fit the filter cover on well or the clips wont slide on.

fupabox says:

just a dab of synthetic wheel bearing grease..but anything would be fine (lubricating oil,regular grease, dielectric grease, engine oil, etc. }

crunkenergy93 says:

Thanks for the video, in going to be cleaning mine out this weekend, what type if grease did you use in the blower motor?

Demi berretti says:

Thank you very much for that usefull info 🙂 tomorrow I’ll try it and check everything and I’m gonna tell you what happened 🙂 Thanks again !

fupabox says:

It sounds like there may be a blockage in the cowl vent drains at the base of the windshield where the fresh air comes in..pour some water in the vents at the bottom of the windshield and see how fast it drains out at the back of the front wheel wells..should come out pretty fast..if it takes a while to start draining or drains slowly, check the drain holes /tubes under the plastic vent grilles under the windshield (my windshield wiper removal video shows how to pop them off..)

Demi berretti says:

Hey man your videos helped me out very much! You’re the best, but I have a question.I have a 1999 W202 C180 Turbo and I replaced my cabin filter and I cleaned everything and everything’s fine now, except one thing. When I turn off the car and I start it again after 2 to 3-4 hours (when the engine is still above 50 degrees hot) my windows get wet (foggy) when I turn on the vents to blow warm air … what do you think is the problem?

tttboyy says:

Just completed the job. Thanks for the information. Mine was dirty as well,

tttboyy says:

I have a 1998 c230. Is the filter in the same location ?

fupabox says:

my favorite place for auto parts Rockauto shipping adds to the cost so it’s best to order other stuff you will need as well air filters oil filters, spark plugs etc. takes a lot of items added to the order to increase the shipping cost so I like to order in bulk for all my cars at once..

hambo92 says:

You mentioned that the Air Filter is $7, where did you buy it? Last time that I replaced it, it cost me $50… Thanks!
