I have a 1984 500sel mercedes and I can’t seem to find where to put in the
transmission fluid.
Were the dealer and the independent mechanic dishonest or just incompetent
?
Please advise, my C-Class 220 sometime gets stuck on gear one (1) and it
gets very jerky. what could be the problem here?

Are those O-rings some special size or standard? If they aren’t standard, i
have to go to the stealership.
I just wanted to say thank you so much for your shared wisdom. Having to
have a Mercedes dealer or even a regular shop charge more then a Doctor is
ridiculous so i dont use them. All they have over us is the resources and
the directions to fix it. Like you I dont lack the skill or even the
courage to at least try. Your a Blessing just got a 1998 e430 and this
happen to me. Im going for it Thanks Giorgio

Your story is EXACTLY what has happened to me and I have been looking for a
DIY to fix my Auto Transmission.
Dealer said $6k to replace and no other choices, Mechanic said $4-5k to
change and no other way of servicing it.
