Mercedes 450SL Floorboard Repair Without Welding

Mercedes 450SL Floorboard Repair Without Welding

This video is to demonstrate the use of “Miracle Paint” and fiberglass to fix some small rust holes and surface rust on my 1975 Mercedes 450SL roadster. I do call it “Magic” paint once but it’s actually called “Miracle” paint and is amazing to seal and prevent rust. The kit can be purchased from https://mercedessource.com (a great source for tech help, ideas and products for classic Mercedes cars) and the paint by itself can be purchased at http://www.hirschauto.com/Miracle-Paint-Rust-Killer/products/3/. Let me know if you have any questions or criticism, I can take it.

Do you think a quart will be enough to cover the undercarriage and wheel wheals with 2 coats of this product?

BigNasty-DIY says:

Yes it will, you just paint it on over the rusted floor pan and cover all the rust. I would then undercoat it from underneath after the miracle paint dries. You might have an issue with the fiberglass because of the weight but since you already have a new floor pan, just paint on the miracle paint from the underside and then coat it with an undercoat. I used the fiberglass to patch holes that went all the way through.

I bought a car that had the floor pans replaced from the inside out. They did a nice job on the inside but the problem is they did not cut out the old floor pans and under the car you see the old rotted out swiss cheese like pans with the new pans above the rust holes. I was wondering if this miracle paint is thick enough to work with from underneath the car to cover up all the rust to make it look better? If I used the fiberglass dipped into the miracle paint would it stat up and dry or would it fall down? Thank you for any advice you could give me. Dennis gospeedracergo5@hotmail.com
