Steve Rocha says:

thanks for the video, will try this when i get out of work

KeithaEric Slaton says:

Well, I took the glass out on driver side. I can see the white plastic spin back and forth. Just doesn’t come in and out. I’m going to check further. Looks simple, but the seat belt did too lol

fupabox says:

it’s possible as well that the mirror switch on the console has has something spilled in it that won’t allow the left/right function…have you removed the housing around the mirror to check the back of the actuator where the glass attaches ?

Eric Slaton says:

Ok, got tired of seat belt, went onto this. The white screw thing that moves in and out to move mirror; it does not move in and out for mine to go left and right. Doesn’t clip into back of mirror, but may be because of those screws not going in and out

fupabox says:

you’re very welcome..

crabbyo721 says:

Thank you for posting this. I was able to pop mine back in.

KeithaEric Slaton says:

Is that going to be in the mirror housing or console?
Sorry, just got this car and you have mapped out my needs! LOL Your videos rock!

fupabox says:

could be either..or a corroded or unplugged connection to the mirror motor

KeithaEric Slaton says:

My mirror adjustment allows me to adjust mirrors up and down, but not left and right. Is it possible that who I just bought car from didn’t clip the mirror back in right and doing this will fix or do you think its the mechanism stripped?

fupabox says:

Check my w202 playlist…I have a video on replacing it..a 30 second job..no problem at all

Jaber Mazzida says:

hey dude. You rock man. This is my first German car and I tried to remove it but, got stuck until saw your video. Thanks a lot. One question, how about the hood mercedes emblem? Broken and bought another one, and dont wanna mess it up. Can u explain how to replace or you think I should try it out myself first? 🙂

fupabox says:

The power and normal seats remove the same ,except for the electrical connections..If I have a chance I can video it tomorrow..I actually saw a pefect black leather set of Kompressor sport seats at my local wrecking yard last week ..they said I could have the pair for $90, but they’re power and my seats are not..it’s a bit of a pain to swap over since you need to do all the door panels as well as all the electrical..but they’re sooo much more comfortable

Thank you!!! I have a 2000 CLK320 the left mirror some how got loose and was dangling from the wires. I Tried doubles sided duck tape and it only worked for a day(it rained.) This is the only video that mentions the handling of that spring wire. udamayne fupabox. one love

once2008 says:

HHHHHaaaa ,, Amen to that 🙂
btw, I’ve always dreamed of making such device to keep these fuckers off my stuff 😀

fupabox says:

that sucks …glad you got it fixed though..wish I could hook a taser to my vehicle so anyone touching would get a quick attitude adjustment 🙂

once2008 says:

I’m here ,,because a fucking jerk took the mirrors off and left them swinging by the electrical wires << I dunno why he did that but that was a bullshit ,, I spent like 2 hours trying to figure up the way these fuckin mirrors are attached to the casing

fupabox says:

glad it helped 🙂

watlingmusic says:

This was really useful mfor me, too, over in the UK. Somebody stole my mirror glass and I bought a replacement, but there were no fixing instructions. Your video showed me that the triangular spring clips needed to be fixed onto the mirror first (they were taped to the mirror for transport and I couldn’t work out what they were for). Seeing this showed me how they went, so many thanks!

fupabox says:

sounds like the gears in the mirror adjuster are stripped…you’ll prob. need to replace the adjustment mechanism behind the mirror glass

447za says:

I have this problem that when Im close my door my mirror flips and then is floppy how I can get that fixed ? I have button on my console that mirrors come in but the driver side mirror doesnt come because its floppy.

fupabox says:

your very welcome…good to know that the 2003 is the same..thanks for the info

NinjaRetro says:

Thank you for your vid. Even though my C230 is a 2003, it still has that funky clip, just different shape. Your video is the only one that really mentions that crappy little spring clip. Thank you so much!

ewgrwergwe says:

Somebody was trying to steal a mirror in my w202. Mirror housing has been removed, and I don’t know how to install it back… can somebody help me?

kuosenone says:

Thank you. great help!

fupabox says:

I’ve used “Nu-finish” car polish to remove hard water spots from chrome and glass..It should neutralize the acid as well
