Thanks, your video was a great help.

Thank you so much! Great video, and it is really great that you say what
size all the bolts and nuts are so a tool lacking rookie like me can fix
the wiper too. My wiper had stopped moving, but I could hear the motor
running, so I knew I had to tighten a nut or two. When I got it appart the
13 mm nut connected to the motor was missing, so the whole arm had fallen
off. I found the nut and got it all back together. Again: Thank you!

Robert Worden says:

This video was terrific! – I’m not an auto mechanic, but considering the
$1250.00 potential cost of this repair at a dealer, I decided to watch the
video and try to fix the part myself. The step by step was precise and
accurate and made diagnosis very simple. I had a bad motor, so I purchased
a used unit and replaced the entire system in less than an hour for $110.00
dollars. Great learning experience and many thanks for the great video!

Andrew Poole says:

Hi, my windscreen wiper extending/retracting action isn’t working and jams
inside the recess on the side of the windscreen. I have to push the whole
arm back in to make it park properly.
Do I need a new mechanism or can this be repaired? What part do you think
is causing this?

Thanks

hello,my windshield wiper just stoped working, when I activated to work, you
know 1,2 or 3 I just hear the motor working but the wiper is not moving and
I can move it with my hand, which I wasnt able to do it before.
can you help me ? what may be wrong?

haha haha says:

thank you, but i think my kind of windshield does not have the lock
mechanism and i just used a bit of force and put it down. 🙂

fupabox says:

it should just click up to lock it off the windshield, and push it back
down to unlock it

haha haha says:

hello, for cleaning reasons I put my windshield up from the glass, and now i
dont know how to put it back in place, please help !

fupabox says:

If I come across a car with them I will.. my w202 didn’t have them

pepsodenttube says:

hi is it possible for you to make a video disassembly of the sidemirror
direction lights? thanks in advance! 🙂

Ferry Corsten says:

yes, the only that i cant open is the inside part of the turtle, and i also
clean the part that move 360 degree, and i just opened the motor which has
the wire, not the gear part. do i need to open the gear part also? thanks..

fupabox says:

did you completely remove it and check the 2 nuts securing the wiper arm
pivot bushing and the motor ?

Ferry Corsten says:

my motor works well, until some points, my wiper just stuck and vibrate, I
am not sure if it’s from motor or transmission, i cleaned all transmission
parts, no more debris and dust, but still stuck, especially when it reached
passenger side, i have to move it using my hand, but still vibrating, I
need some advice please, thank you

Alexander Larkin says:

Thank you!

Walter Paiz says:

I just read what to do with a wiper that parks on the passanger side. So
just to make sure I need to remove the entire wiper system (motor and
tranmission) to be able to get the wiper to park correctly, right? I cannot
do this procedure without having to remove the system. Just what to make
sure I understand it correctly. Thanks. By the way you have saved me
thousands of dollars. So far I have change my spark plugs, clean Mass air
flow sensor, Throttle body, and cabin filter. Its my first c-230.

fupabox says:

yes ..you need to remove it to get it to park in the proper spot..if it
isn’t parking properly the motor shaft has at some point slipped ,or the
motor was replaced incorrectly…watch carefully the in -out pattern the
arm makes as it sweeps the windshield and that will help you line it up..it
should be nearly all the way retracted in the park position

Don Cameron says:

everything except the motor removal, such a pity to exclude it a that’s
what i want to see

fupabox says:

thanks..hope it helped

fupabox says:

the turtle cover kind of spreads out at the sides and pops off..may just be
sticky from never having been removed before

juan young says:

very good video thank you very much, good job.

gabriel oconnell says:

really great video top marks my friend

Michael Oldfield says:

Thanks for this video..I having difficulty removing the ‘turtle’ cover to
lube up the mechanism which I’m gonna try before I might have to remove the
complete unit. Thanks again for this video..Very Helpful 🙂

Ian Spencer says:

This might depend on where you live. In the UK I believe the change was in
1997 with the minor restyle (the flick on the boot/trunk and the aero
bodywork). Mine is a 1999 C240. eBay was the first clue to be careful of.
(eBay sellers note the difference). There is no plug on the bulkhead, and
the cable has a water seal that fits in a cut-out in the fusebox and has a
thin green connector about an inch long on it.

ElizabethCaligari says:

how do I find out which type of motor I have without pulling it? Trying to
order a replacement motor, and though I have the original parts number and
have run the VIN- everyone wants to know which motor it is.. Not even the
mercedes dealership could tell me which one it is. I’m not the one doing
the repair so how do I find that without pulling it out?

fupabox says:

yeah those middle clips are a pain..

fupabox says:

if you are lucky..yes..if not,one of the plastic gears inside the mechanism
could be stripped

Carpe diem glxke says:

One Youtube video tells more than a thousand pictures. Thanks for helping
by sharing this video.

Jamille Jones says:

When i help it by hand it comes back easily and then goes right back again
then its on the right side waiting for me to bring it back.

fupabox says:

you are very welcome 🙂

Jamille Jones says:

Where exactly would i lube it more. Also how do i get the wiper to extend
when I take it off its all the way in.

fupabox says:

glad it helped 🙂

fupabox says:

sounds like the gear that drives the secondary wiper mechanism (the in and
out movement of the arm) is stripped..you would have to remove the entire
assembly and then unbolt the center pivot shaft from the main transmission
(the bolt on the bottom side right under the big black cover) then the arm
and cover assembly will come away from the main transmission, and you will
see the plastic drive gear under there…most likely broken…very common

Guilland23 says:

Ohhhhhhhhh nooooo. Anyway, the most important is that it is working when it
rains. Thanks a lot for your help… I really really really appreciate.
Thanks. Your video will help a lot of people.

john lewis says:

thank you Fupa, great explanation. you seem very skilled but may I suggest
an assistant to help with camera work. cheers

fupabox says:

yes that would be much easier..and the filming quality would improve 🙂
