In this video, I talk about how I went from literally not knowing how to. add engine oil to being a Mercedes-Benz Master Certified Journeyman technician in 2 years. I also talk about what I do for a living, how I got started as a tech and why I left Mercedes. Oh, I talk about going to fulltime YouTube.
Enjoy!

What was your German car? Mine was a 2000 S430 I bought for $1,500 with a misdiagnosed bad engine!
My mercedes 2015 C200 central display screen has developed a fault which stops it from working, kept switching on and off and when it is on the screen comes with vertical lines and showing nothing else, corrupted screen. So I can not use radio, telephone, SatNav etc etc and no use of any communication at all.
Great video. And don't ever sell the Trans Am. I worked thru high school and saved up (with my dads help) for a used 67 GTO. It was a great car but needed work. But then college got too intense and I was also working part time & I had no time to devote to the car and sold it. One of my biggest regrets. I still miss it 30 years later.
An interesting life journey that could turn into a tv show, something to think about
Hey Alex! Almost 3 years later you’re finally doing YouTube full time! I’ve been watching your channel for years and it’s awesome to see a fellow Chicagoan doing great
I was a Chevy and Nissan master tech Nissan you have to have 10 years of verified Nissan technician experience to get platinum status and Chevy you just have to pass all of the GM global classes
Please help me fix my car or if you recommend some one reliable and trust worthy
This guy got 2much money should lend me 10000 to travel to usa
Hey man. I just got a gls550. I've always loved wrenching on my previous cars/trucks. Can a DIY guy do normal things like brakes, oil/filter changes etc. Or do I need a computer to clear lights and warnings?
“I didn’t have a dad around” I felt that
Some people are just natural at things
Haha you would have to pay me a lot to work on those piles of junk…. it seems like everyone in my area drives a money pit Mercedes or BMW
Good luck matey,i which you all the best ,I enjoy watching your videos
give it 2 years youl be at a million or 2 subs
I dont know how you guys do it. Im dipping my toe into modern cars and I'm lost. Bidirectional controls, EEPROMS, and just recently I find out how at least Ford is making rocker arms. They DONT. EVEN. CALL THEM that anymore. Rocker followers, because they float, and put needle bearings in them because…yes, lets make a tiny wear component able to drop right down into the cylinder.
Im having a boomer moment I guess, even if Im not one. I think its time to get my modern car off to the dealer and just go back to my carburetors and vacuum logic boards.
I have a 2013 SL 550 Mercedes. Want to remove the rear pop up wind screen to repair it, but I don’t want to break anything. Can you tell me where I can find the procedure to do this? Can you tell me how to do it?
I love cars a lot
Pls how I apply as auto car Refurbisher
You inspired me to fix my wife’s car. I changed the fuel pump, cleaned the throttle body and MAF sensor, and replaced spark plugs. I still didn’t fix it. I guess my problem is figuring out what’s wrong, not fixing it.
It’s idling just fine, I can rev it up in park. When I put it in drive and accelerate, it’s stalls instantly. Can’t figure it out
dude you inspired me THANK YOU!
Been a Mercedes Benz Master technician for 24 years in south Florida. It has been a great career. What I did not think about is at some point your body gets old and it gets increasingly harder to do what you used to do. Hard to find a job making the same money.
Good achievement on your carrier…admire you….thumb up….keep it up….always love to see your video…..tq
Why does this video have only 90k views? Great story and growth Alex, good critical career thinking and I respect your hustle.
Thank you for sharing with us more of your story !!!
Late to the party, but if you love your job stay until you don't. Loving your job is a rare thing. Love the channel and keep up the good (part time) work!
I have always thought of going to school and working on cars and this has made me want to do it more.
