Thank you. I was confused as to how to remove the battery from this car;
who knew the water bottle had to come out first? Dumb design. I was
surprised to see the batter on my 92 400E is in the trunk!
…batteries. In 24 years only needed one replacement.
Lol, speaking as a fellow 126 owner, mercedes couldn’t have shoved a bigger
battery in these things hahaha, type 49’s are no joke.
How did you disable the engine from firing? They say its bad to unhook the
coil wires. Ive had good luck with oem mercedes bstts
You’re right. It’s hard on the coil to unhook the secondary lead w/o
grounding it. For this car, I pulled the CPS lead from the EZL module. My
experience has been that there is no difference in longevity between the
Mercedes battery and a good aftermarket battery. This new battery should
last longer than the other battery due to its unique design. At least
that’s the hope anyway. 🙂
Very true. The new battery I installed weighed about 56 or 58 Lbs.! I’d
rather have a large battery than a small one since you never know when
you’ll need the extra reserve power.
