self ratcheting wrenches are a god-send :>

MercedesDieselGuy says:

@Kbrusky15 Amen to that!

MercedesDieselGuy says:

100% agreed. I can’t imagine I actually suggested that in the video. I’ve
never used any sort of starting fluid on a diesel and never would. I’ve
known that for a very long time.

MercedesDieselGuy says:

You may have a problem with the glow plug relay. In your car, it’ll be
mounted to the inside of the driver’s side front fender, near the headlight.

Thank you I appreciate it 🙂

MercedesDieselGuy says:

I bought it from Mercedessource, but there may be other options out there.

I have 83 mbx 300d. the gflow plugs dfont work right. I hae to hit the key
switch multiple times to get the light on. still have to either use heater
overnight or ether. we’ve replced the gplugs. is there a module in line
with the switch -plug harness?

mannys9130 says:

You should NEVER EVER use ether or starting fluid on a diesel engine. You
WILL crack a piston or prechamber. If you must use a starting fluid to get
the engine to start, use WD-40 and nothing else. With good compression,
correct valve lash settings, and strong glow plug system, you shouldn’t
need anything but the key to get that engine to fire.

anvil777 says:

Where did you buy the tool for the carbon build up? Thanks for the video 😉
