Just when I thought I fixed all the gremlins that come with every FD Mazda RX-7, I learned something new!
Due to the location of the Fuel Pulsation Damper on the FD RX-7, when they eventually go bad and leak fuel, it does so on a very hot engine, causing engine fires!
Although my damper was not bad (yet) I took the time to replace this part on my primary fuel rail, giving myself some peace of mind. At $185 for a new damper, that’s cheap insurance!
