MUST HAVE First Mazda RX8 Mod – DIY Install

MUST HAVE First Mazda RX8 Mod – DIY Install

* LINK FOR EVERYTHING USED IN THIS VIDEO BELOW *

The most important for Mazda RX8 mod is an aftermarket water temperature gauge. You’ll know when you are warmed up and ready to rip it and you’ll know if you get too hot to chill down or shut off the engine. Monitor your engine’s health and it looks pretty cool too. In this video, I talk about the importance of monitoring temperature and how to install one of these gauges.

Torque pro does the job with bluetooth obd2

Mahshin A says:

you can read the coolant temperature by using WiFi OBD2 on your phone. Isn’t the same thing as this one? Except the cool looking gauge

Gem channel!

"so whats the way to prevent that?"

me: "an aftermarket radiator?"

him: "an aftermarket tempature gauge."

oh.

CiviicSam says:

STL for the guage pod?! 😀

3toedSloth75 says:

Did you ground the temp sensor radiator hose adapter body? They're supposed to be grounded and it is best to use sealant liquid instead of Teflon tape so the sensor body can get that ground from the adapter too.

Great videos , however I would really appreciate a video on the VFAD intake system of the Mazda rx8….there are hardly any videos on this area…would like to do a VFAD restoration on my series 2 Mazda rx8….would really like to see what the set up is like on these cars if possible

Nathan Howard says:

212 isn’t very high. I’ve had multiple Renesis up to 240 without any coolant or compression issues. I’d pull over at 220 and shut it down at 230 personally.

MALAYSIANS CAN DRIFT COMPILATIONS says:

very clear and entertaining !

Matthew says:

One thing I noticed recently on my RX8 was that whilst on a spirited drive on a particularly hot day I had my air-con on full blast. After a couple of mins I'd noticed the water temp gauge on the dashboard rise up from the standard 1/2 to 3/4 – I'm assuming this is relatively normal when running AC on full?
Fortunately I noticed it within a couple of minutes and switched the AC Off – The gauge dropped down to 1/2 again within a minute or so
P.S. I live in the UK so weather temps are usually relatively mild.
P.S. 2 Followed your channel for years mate. Love the content, keep it up!

jim krom says:

I had two of those, a 196hp and a 231 hp version and I loved them both so very much but seriously the first and most important mod you can do to them is an engine swap. Put on an rx7 engine or a nonster ls or even an s2k one but renesis will die on you no matter how well you take care of it… Rebuilts are patches (they will never last and don't hear them saying that enchanced apex seal will do wonders, it is a lie), and new wngines are very very expensive

周辄 says:

I heard someone used the "HKS camp2 "to show the water and oil temp inside the OEM flip screen and costs around 500. I thought there's already a screen inside the car so why not just let it do something. But HKS only sale them in Euro and Jp… can be bought in eBay. Dont know if that would work on US rx8

Karol Opyrchał says:

I talked with my rotary mechanic, he said that better option is sensor on racingbeat adapter. Is more accurate.

Psychicer502 says:

Ive got 2 glowswitch digital guages for temp/pressure. Im able to monitor water oil temp oil pressure and fuel pressure. As well as obd2 on my phone for some extra stats.
I did the fusebox set up

Kyle Brown says:

The last video you dropped was at the time I got my rx8. I have been waiting for months for this next video. Thank you!!

DIINj27 says:

Ive rebuild my engine with HD viton coolant seal . They are rated at 120c degrees Celsius

Andrew Bruckbauer says:

Would you be willing to upload the 3D print to thingiverse?

Hufman says:

I wonder how many viewers both don't own or want an rx8, but still watch the entire video
