There's supposed to be another version coming, somewhere at some point in time.
A hybrid that uses the small Rotary Engine strictly as a generator to recharge the batteries. Fwiw I'm anti-electric. We're just getting to the point where we about to step out from under OPEC. Why would we want to give that power right back to someone else like China who controls the world market for battery materials.

My 2014 Mazda 6 was probably the best car I ever owned. Not happy with the cylinder deactivation system in the new ones though.

NEVER EVER had an issue with any Mazda (including the GLC) there fit & finish and reliability is second to none. This is from a Honda fan boy talking, and saddens me with the garbage Toyota and Honda is making today…
The EV craze isn't all that clean as we think.
There's just one thing about ev,lithium and cobalt. BYD came with sodium. Everyone want to be market leader.
Electric uses thermal coal and wooden pallets… And that ain't as clean as u think it is. With more EV, means more needs to be burnt. Pls go google the by product from power generators.
