When you say you placed the jack “under the engine” — where exactly did you place it? I am going to attempt this repair in a week or two. I’m sure I could figure something out, but it would be helpful to know of a particular spot that someone already had good luck with :).

Can you describe exactly what tools you used such as impact wrench/breaker bar/lubricant/heat to get the nuts removed . Thanks for the info on supporting the motor with a jack. Thanks!

Is there a way to tell if THIS is the mount that needs to be replaced WITHOUT taking it out? Also, I googled the part# and there are some mounts for $50. Any drawbacks on these?

Thanks for all they comments! Glad you found it helpful!

@nervousordo They also have mount inserts you can buy. They are primarily used for racing…I don’t plan or racing this rust bucked. Lol

StepTo3 says:

True… but then you end up with NVH issues, particularly if you fill most or all of the mount. I’ve been there and done it.

Very Good! Glad to see an engine mount come out broken. I have a 1995 323 and 2000 Ford Laser (Protege) my the drive train / engine lash is making changing gears not as smooth as once was.
