aaand that short shifter looks (and must feel) sweet 🙂 Looks like there’s
no slop in there at all. Also ND28 needs a new shift knob, I heard DJ’s got
a lot of ’em 😛

Don’t even get me started on the heat shield! When I finally get to writing
my own ‘build’ topic I’ll spill so much @#$%@ about it. On my 626 the bolts
are the other way around – the bolt head is under the car and the nut is
INSIDE THE FLOOR! Yup, inside it, not just under the carpet. It’s inside a
squarish profile, that sits under the front seats and THERE IS NO WAY TO
GET TO IT! Just a 1cm diameter hole, barely enough to spot it. It’s a small
SQUARE nut welded to the floor. It broke off on me.

Funny thing is I got a new(used)shifter, from a 2002 Tiburon GT , itseather
wrapped and its feel perfect, I like it better than the OEM MX6 one…

Hell yeah!

Oh I laughed out loud, yeah I have plenty. Actually I have 3 sitting on my
desk as ornaments. ND28 is really fond of that particular one because it
still has the OEM leather on it which is pretty rare. If he wanted a new
one I could give him one of mine in a heartbeat but he just won’t let go of
that one no matter how ratty it looks because of the leather cover. He is
actually the shift knob enthusiast not me. He’s got a real nice collection.
