Mazda MX-5 Miata (2016+): How to Install Aftermarket Door Bushings Kit – ND ND1 ND2 ND3 RF ST

This video shows the steps required to install an aftermarket set of door bushings on a fourth generation Mazda MX-5 Miata (2016+ – including ND1, ND2, ND3, soft top and/or RF variants). The specific car in this video is a 2020 MX-5 RF Grand Touring with Snowflake White Pearl Mica exterior paint and Red Nappa Leather interior.

A harder door bushing material (vs. the factory rubber ones) can help provide additional structural rigidity to your MX-5 convertible. There are a lot of different options for aftermarket door bushings. In my opinion, the differences are slight from one style/material to another, though I’m sure some of the quality offerings may have a nicer finish. I picked up these bushings from eBay at the following link:

Using tape is what I did for centering. Also the screws holding the pocket that the bushing goes into MUST BE FLUSH otherwise you go crazy trying to get the adjustment right.
