Andrew Wong says:

My 94 has a plug that wont come out. Its difficult when turned. And theres
a puddle of oil above it, and soaked my socket. It cranks, but no start.

bodysurf100 says:

Very helpful……just picked up a ’91 Miata and went to change plugs and
whoa………never had seen a boot like that before down to the plug. thx

Rainer Ostermeier says:

Devon metters says:

Btw your starter sounds cool :). I’m not joking

plumfixer says:

Ngk recommends not using anti-seize on plugs they have a factory coating

Devon metters says:

I have a honda. It’s Japanese aswell. That’s all it’s got going for it. (It
also makes grown men cry, it’s super loud)

drakkina says:

Thank you so much! Post more!

Michael Goncalves says:

I do not know what it is about JAPANESE CARS but they absolutely will not
run properly on anything else but Japanese plugs. I put Champeon plugs in
my NA (1991) and fancy Boshe Plugs and Splitfires and the car had a fit
like a 4 year old in a toy store!!! Put on the video Bridge on the River
Quai ‘Be HAPPI in your WOOOURGH!!!, slapped in some NGKs and my junk yard
dog started purring like a kitten!!! No body gaps plugs anymore
(0.42-0.44)—too many ways to drop them in out of wack. Go Irrudium

Michael Goncalves says:

Spark Plugs are like a mini MRI on the health of your engine!!! 1. OIL
FOWLED? Replace the Cam Gasket—All DOCH engilnes oil fowl the rear spark
plugs 2. BURNT OFF Electrodes? Idiot, you left yer plugs in too long!!!
3.SMASHED FIRING END? BIG Time Mechanical problems–crush car!!! 4. ASH ON
FIRING END? Needs new valve guide seals 5. INSULATOR CRACKED/BROKEN? Idiot,
you set the gap wrong!!! 5. BURNT EVERYTHING? Possible Lean fuel mixture?
Intake Maniford leaks, cooling.

Dre Rebelo says:

Thanks so much:) gonna do the plugs n wires on my moms miata this weekend
for her:) thanks for the refresher

Michael Goncalves says:

My first new car, a ‘used’ 1991 Miata (8.5miles) named ‘Bitch’ (‘Sexy’ when
she was running, ‘Fucking’ when she wasn’t) went 286,000 miles with a small
class A leak and only replaced ‘worn out parts’—she still passed smog.
“Bitch” was crushed when a drunk hit her parked next to a coffee shop.
Don’t replace to be replacing. Its a light car (2K lbs), bushings should be
fine. Me? At 275K KM, I’d replace the radiator with a Mishimoto+fans+140d
Thermastad AND I’d get the gage cap. Hows yer struts?

xXxDANMANxXx says:

UGHHH, such helpful vids, I have yet to get a miata, a few more paychecks
and I should be safe 😀 I could buy one now, but then I’d be broke lol

Michael Goncalves says:

6. CARBON DEPOSITS? Idiot, when was the last time you changed your air
filter? 7. PRE-IGNITION (Melted Electrodes and Firing Arm)? Oil Pump/loss
of Lubrication—you probably cooked yer engine (Throw car away!) 8. NORMAL
Brown to Grey ash on Firing Arm/resistor + small wear resistor. 9. TOO HOT?
Blistered white insulator, eroded electroes. Idiot, Are you putting Lucas
in EVERY FILL UP? Can’t do that!!! Remember, a tune up = Plugs,Cables, PVC
Valve, a ‘fitted’ Pre-Cat Oxy Sensor & an air filter!!

djhivesdotcom says:

replace the engine

Pablo Bilgray says:

Great video, thanks!!

aymalb says:

Thanks MiataFan!

Tbac1 says:

Unfortunately for me I have to take the strut bar and other stuff for the
mazdaspeed version. Not too big a deal just a pain sometimes

franciscocortes77 says:

autozone? -.- did you even. check the them
