hi can you or anyone post a video that shows where all of the vacuum hoses
go on the carb and the engine PLEASE !!!!

rkoeshall906387 says:

I thought the video was helpful,in response to Mr. Livingston ANY GOOD
MECHANIC WILL REPLACE AN UNBROKEN TIMING BELT, the reason mechanics will
change a timing belt before it actually breaks is due to cracks in the belt
which would indicate a belt is about to break, if you don’t replace it and
then it actually breaks and you have an interference engine you could bend
valves and that can get quite expensive to repair.

@marksworld13 Thanks….and great DIY video!

IndigenousNation says:

Do you where ill be able to find the Low Side port on a 86 b2000 to
recharge the A/C?

marksworld13 says:

@pogly100 Sorry I’ve never checked the mileage difference after installing
the weber. I now own 2 mazda B’s and not long ago put a weber on the second
truck. They are a great simple little carb.

pogly100 says:

@marksworld13 Yes, I used to have those carbs on my 2 litre Escorts
(Australian/British) and really liked them but those little cars sure liked
a drink! Good that you didn’t notice the difference in mileage when putting
the Weber on tho! The stock carb constantly gives me grief too, so I might
try and find a Weber. Thanks for the reply. 🙂

Kimonui says:

thank you for this. Barring the paint on belt method, how does one line up
timing gears and all that? thanx.

CRStoeckert says:

Thank you! for this video! it worked great and the truck runs great as
well…

jslane47 says:

Thank you! This is super! My only question…How come you didn’t change the
water pump as well? My friends are telling me that if your in there, you
should change it too?

Matthew Lee Baer says:

What is the name of the middle belt???

Wenses Ayala says:

oye friend pero kontestame en spanish komo le ago para ke tenga mas poder
mi mazda pick up

Don Lepsch says:

Thanks for the timing belt change…very helpful….changed mine after
looking at your video. I guess I didn’t look closely enough at the
spring/idler…once you tighten the bolt I don’t know what the spring is
for….I think if the bolt comes loose you are out of luck. Don

marksworld13 says:

My truck uses a mechanical fuel pump, never had a problem not using a
regulator. In my research I’m not alone with this setup. However if your
truck uses a electric fuel pump it is strongly advised to use a fuel
regulator. If you are doing a weber install, search “weber install” title
only at mazdatrucking, tons of info.

Pont28 says:

This will also work for the 86-87 B2000 some of the bolt on stuff is
different but the belt change is pretty much the same

La Vaughn Livingston says:

WHO – USUALLY – REPLACES AN UNBROKEN TIMING BELT? AND HOW DO YOU ALIGN THE
CAM AND CRANK SHAFT TIMING GEAR MARKS, WITHOUT YOUR WHITE, CRAYOLA CRAYON?
AND WHY DOES THIS GUY DO EVERYTHING AND THEN SAY, “i DID IT” WHEN THE
PROCESS AND THE FINISH BOTH NEED TO BE REPRESENTED? IT’S LIKE WATCHING A
VIDEO ON “HOW TO HAVE SEX” WITH THE GUY ONLY WANKING SPORADICALLY THEN
CUMMING. The ONLY thing I found useful about this video is that the crank
shaft pulley has 6 bolts instead of one in the center.

marksworld13 says:

Better safe then sorry using a regulator. Heres a helpful tip if you are
going to use a Mr. Gasket pressure regulator. I have read a few people have
had to set the regulator to 4 or 5 to get enough fuel to the carb at
highway speed. They would lose power, taken them a while to figure out why.
That was only with a Mr. Gasket regulator.

Lavarrius34 says:

Mark I see u not using a fuel regulator on the weber did u have to change
the jet

Josue Bonilla says:

wish i lived near you. maybe i can get some work done on my mazda

marksworld13 says:

@firstmusic00 If you are only changing the timing belt you should be fine
leaving the radiator installed.

jslane47 says:

@marksworld13 Thanks! I just finished the timing belt project on my 1990
mazda b2200. I would never had the confidence to do this project without
your video.

Don Lepsch says:

By the way my belt on my 1990 had 120,000 and it was in very good
shape…no visible determination or cracks. Don

firstmusic00 says:

Great video! I just bought an ’86 B2000. I’m going through it area by
area….fluids, tune-up, brakes, etc. My spring time project is a timing
belt. Though I have the 2.0L, the engines look the same to me.
Question…do you have to remove the radiator for this project? I would
think just the fan. I know you were putting a new one in anyway, but mines
seems in good condition with no need to replace. Can I get a way with just
removing the fan? Thanks!

marksworld13 says:

Conversion carb kits are available from Redline and Weber Carbs Direct. You
can go directly to there websites or find them on Ebay and Amazon. I got
mine from Weber Carbs Direct, a 32/36 DGEV which is the standard
replacement size. They offer a 38/38 model for high performance engines. If
you go electric choke make sure the wire to the choke always has current,
if not the choke will fail to open fully. My weber is now 8 years old and
runs like new.

Lavarrius34 says:

Thank mark my fuel pump mechanical to they was saying use one because of
the amount of pressure the weber carburetor can take can’t b over 3.5 psi

pogly100 says:

Great vid, I’ve been thinking of putting a Weber on mine – how did you find
the fuel consumption when you put the Weber on tho?

marksworld13 says:

@jslane47 Good question. The water pump in this motor had around 60,000
miles on it when doing this video, so it seemed premature to me to replace
the pump at that point. I’ll replace the water pump next time around on a
new timing belt, that would put about 120,000 miles on the pump.
