ProjectM97 says:

It should be the same procedure for the upstream O2 sensor. Just replace
the sensor. Unplug battery first since your wires are cut. The downstream
sensor is even easier to replace and is located after the catalytic
converter. Just make sure the car is securely jacked before going under the
car. Use jack stands.

I have some problems in my car I got the 1.8 engine someone cut the wires
of the o2 sensor and I don’t know its colors can you help me with that ?

ProjectM97 says:

Every 80,000-160,000 miles for good brands and if your engine runs healthy.
It will probably last 50,000-80,000 miles if they are cheap O2 sensors and
a poorly maintained car

Liam Palmer says:

how often do these go bad? i have this exact car i think. i have a 97
familia (protege) but in new zealand they are all 1.3 liter manual, not 1.6
liter automatics

ProjectM97 says:

Yes, but not with the same paint. It does get very hot. I sprayed some WD40
to get the bolts loose. The WD40 was burning for a few days. Smoke and odor
through the A/C vents. Engine paint withstands up to 500 degrees F, but
there is exhaust manifold paint that handles up to around 1700 degrees F.
It only comes in silver or black. I bought the paint from Pep Boys for $7
for my other car. Now that you gave me the idea, I think I will paint my
heat shield silver. Maybe I will post a video of that.

mmur47558 says:

U need to disconnect the battery before doing any kind of work on the car.
But good video

JonDerrick Cannon says:

Can we paint our heatshield the same way we do our valve cover? Or can it
not be done?
