How to replace a rear wheel bearing in your car.

David Hoover says:

Nice video! you state you were safety glases to protect your eyes, gloves
for your hands, etc. Get you some jack stands man! Don’t you value your
life or at least put the wheel under the car. You know to never trust a
hydraulic jack..

stepan zorvarian says:

You are amazing ! Thank you for all your help and god bless you! :)

john mills says:

Why not replace the whole assembly ? Quicker and simpler.

Jason Andes says:

I changed the rear wheel bearing in my 2003 Mazda Protege5 and for 4 months
it was good then it started making noise again. What gives? Kinda went
back to what prior wheel bearing noise was doing a clicking noise when on
brakes(load) on rear.

renodeify says:

I have to admit… After seeing this video, I wussed out and bought the
whole assembly instead.

David Hernandez says:

Could this be what is making a cracking sound every time i turn into a
drive way?

hamerstein says:

my bmw e34 abs system keeps making a weird sound when i brake at lower
speeds than 30km/h so i guess its the cogs to the abs sensor that is worn
down, is there any way to quickly tell which wheel without tearing down
everything and looking at them?

Dexion845 says:

+Jason Andes your bearing most likely ruined the rest of the hub too.
Usually if you ride on it too long and take your car up to highway speeds a
lot you will take the hub out too from the added friction from a bad
bearing.

ICEGTN says:

try microlon wheel bearing grease ;)

wildman261 says:

scotty-I have a quick question for you,please help…i have a 2001 BMW
740il (e38) and when i am driving i can hear a fairly loud grinding sound
coming from the right rear,is that a bad wheel bearing or something
else?thank you in advance.

when is car worm up is eusy to start ??i was change start moter but the
same can u help me plz what is wrong ??/

Scotty Kilmer says:

dealers are never cheap, take the assembly to a machine shop

Anthony Wright says:

Well, my cheap, yet child’s college car is done, With no advise from here
might I add. You can buy the bearings, and then have them extracted and
mounted to the hub for around $30 as well. Heck of a lot better then
spending $720, when you can easily do it yourself for around $200. Good
luck everyone!!!

Briley Davidson says:

how do i replace the bearings on my 2003 Toyota Corolla with drum breaks??

thai hoang says:

can I add coolant only without water

Scotty Kilmer says:

actually much easier on that old style design, and cheaper, it only has
small inner and outer wheel bearings that need replacing

Scotty Kilmer says:

na, years of experience show you how to press them in just the right
distance. As long as you push only on the outer race and not the bearings
themselves you damage nothing.

Scotty Kilmer says:

put people on the back seat, have them stick their heads out the windows to
see if they hear the noise there louder.

Scotty Kilmer says:

Scotty Kilmer says:

water in oil, overheating, and smoking white out the tail pipe. But a real
test if my video “how to tell if your head gasket is blown:

Scotty Kilmer says:

yes, but more work on an AWD due to drive shafts in the way

Scotty Kilmer says:

yes, all wheels need wheel bearings. Have someone stick their head out your
window when driving to see if it’s the rear

Scotty Kilmer says:

it often will act like that, but also check the tire, worn tires can do
that with bulges in them

2muchy2 says:

lol poor rim

jesussaves13 says:

Hey Scotty, I have a 1998 Nissan Maxima SE and I am getting this rumbling
