Subbed due to you showing me a perfect how-to.
Will be doing my mk2 golf front bearings soon as bearing kit arrives.
Best wishes from the uk fella
Scott I was told 300-400 w/o parts, when I needed one, NOT CHEAP
Is it that important to replace the spindle if you have a bad bearing?
Chris Fix. I’m a big fan. I used ur video to change my wheel bearings. It
was very informative and by watching the video 2x my ole man and neighbors
were shocked to see me do it myself. Anyways I’m about to put another axial
on. Do u have a video for that? I think i can do it because when i had to
replace bearings i could access it easily. What do u think?
Chris, do you know what the repair shops usually charge for this repair?
You did all this using just a tire jack + wheel? Dude seriously you’re
supposed to use triple redundancy. Floor jack + jack stand + wheel.
Otherwise great video.
Great Video Man, lots to learn from you! Keep it up! :D
fords don’t have spring on the struts?
Oh lawd, I’m adding this repair to my list ‘do not attempt’!!! So far it’s
wheel bearings and heater core replacement. But hey, great video my man.
It’s one of several I have checked out. You explain things very well, video
quality and lighting is great (nothing is more frustrating watching other
car repair vids and although they know what they’re doing, I can’t
see…shaky movements…too dark etc) I of course subscribed.
Very good video, The “split clip” thing that you was talking about is
called a snap ring. Its just like the ring used to connect the piston rods
to the wrist pin. They also make special pliers for these. Part number:
MT0592 at AutoZone.
I checked harbor freight web, can’t find the press bearing kit. Guys there
said they don’t have such thing. Tried Autozone and Pepboys, they said
don’t have it either and prefer to send to car garage to press them. What
specific kit model # or name you got from harbor freight?
Man ur the Best you really tell exactly how to do things Exellent !
hahaha…love ur videos man am a mechanic myself and i already know how to
do these things but i just love to watch ur videos and i know it isn’t easy
to record a video and work on the vehicle at the same time but ur good!
