A good way to preserve your presets and other electronics is to get a
device that is called a memory saver. The best type I have seen, plugs into
your OBD II port. It will supply 12 volts to the car, when the battery is
disconnected.
Tks for sharing! It will come quite ahndy in 10mins time as my car lie with
a flat battrry and I have to change it myself. It always confused me which
pole to disconnect 1st. Now I know!
lead acid batteries produce hydrogen gas as they are being charged. with
the older type batteries, where the cells have screw caps to each cell, any
spark can and most likely will ignite this highly flammable gas and explode
your battery up in to your face while your bent over it removing the
terminals, you will have pieces of battery and acid in your face and eyes.
hence the reason to disconnect the negative terminal first and connect it
last as you in reinstall.
CA (Cranking amperes) is the amount of current a battery can provide at 32
°F (0 °C). CCA (Cold cranking amperes) is the amount of current a battery
can provide at 0 °F (−18 °C). You only need a vent pipe if the battery is
inside the car, (boot etc) or in an enclosed box where the vent pipe was
fitted to prevent the build up of gases produced during charging.
thank you for uploading. All car battery has bottom clamp? Because I have a
Nissan Almera 2004 and removing – and + terminal the battery didn’t move
still fixed.
When I saw this video heading, I was going to leave a mickey taking comment
on the grounds that if someone cannot work out how to change their car
battery then they are unfit to change said battery but I stand corrected,
this video is informative, well done!
Most European built cars have the battery held by the bottom lug, some have
two clamps. Japanese cars don’t always have the lug and have a clamp across
the top of the battery, but this would be obvious, it may just need a firm
pull to remove.
That is a pretty crazy set-up under the hood, with the battery being so
completely covered and then vented. Must be a newer car. Maybe that would
prevent all the dirt from getting on the battery, which somehow works its
way under the hood. Another thing to remember is that you may have to drive
a while (at different speeds, etc.) before the computer will go through a
cycle, so the car can pass an emission test.
Lets hope they don’t repair their own brakes!!

I like riding in cars.

Vehicles are now made for world markets, the box keeps the battery warmer
and dryer for better cold starting in very cold climates
you say that ECU looses program if we put the battery away?Than we need a
reprogram to the dealer(i have ford focus)? Thanks for the great video
@billyboyjennings I like turtles.
