Kevin Murphy says:

Just did my 5 today for the first time but I have a 6 also and that’s how I do the 6.

winimow says:

Thank you! Yeah, that’s a great idea!

Kevin Murphy says:

I would leave the plastic cover off all the way until the end of the oil change. Why? So after you’re done, you can inspect for any leaks just in case you did something wrong. It saves you from having to remove and reinstall the splash guard.

winimow says:

Mazda 5 general needs about 4 and a half quarts. Thank you for watching!!

nowledge89 says:

It looked like you only added one quart of oil. How much does a mazda 5 generally need per oil change?

winimow says:

Thank you for watching!
As for car level or not, it’s ok not leveled for draining the oil. But it should be leveled when you put the oil back in, at that time, the car would have been lowered. Thank you!

Jean-Francois Desrosiers says:

Great! Exactly the info I was searching for.
It looks you jacked just one side. Does it matter if the car is not at level?

winimow says:

yeah, with practice, unhooking the splash guard would get easier. Thank you for watching and your feedback!!!

Glenn Quagmire says:

Just did my 2012 M5 after watching this. That sliding in the splash guard to the proper place – that hook thingy in back – is kind of a bear though. Guess a few more times it’ll be easy-cheesy. Gave the bolts and screws a little bit of cat-s**t (anti-seize) since those screw clips look a little delicate. Much thanks.
