Robert Harris says:

Will this process work on a 1993 f150 I believe that it’s the same
transmission?

Myles Gifford says:

awesome video I just did mine on a 92 ranger 2×4 had so much slop I’d go
for 3rd and hit first again pins were hard to get out but I did it

Joseph Wilkins says:

@wolf198425ify it’s in the description. Last link

Chris Acosta says:

I tried to shift into recede and the stick popped to the right a lot now
it’s really loose and harder to put into 5th and reverse. Would this help?
Please answer. 🙁

Brian Smith says:

OMG me 3!!! I can’t believe nobody tells you to have the damn transmission
in neutral before you pull the inner shifter out. I finally fixed the
problem by sticking a long flat head screw driver in the trans and pulling
on one of the shifter forks.

Homie0809 says:

im so glad i found this vid, i am in no way a mechanic and i have been
fighting with my shifter for a few hours, i have to remove it so i can
replace the the entire clutch assembly on my 97 ranger. thanks for posting
this video.

Joseph Wilkins says:

@greener99 Very welcome

Joseph Wilkins says:

@David Paugh that’s why the title says MAZDA B2300 Not Ford ranger.

poop1001009 says:

I have a 1986 f150 and my shifter broke off and left a little stub of te
shifter still in. How do i take that off and put a shifter off of a
different truck in?

Joseph Wilkins says:

@bdiesslin very welcome

Joseph Wilkins says:

@FSBARAK Just used a punch and a hammer. They aren’t pressed in very tight.
The kind of punch I used was about 1/4″ round at the tip. Just took a few
taps.

Mike S says:

Any clue how to get the broken pins out without dropping trany? My F150 has
a 4″lift kit so the area with the pins sets lower than normal

Woodrow Ellenburg says:

Thank’s for the video, it really helped!

Joseph Wilkins says:

@Mike S I used a center punch ad hammer. Was very easy to push them thru

Joseph Wilkins says:

@itchie0680 Yes sir. It should fit a lot of different fords and mazdas

dangerline95 says:

I CAN’T GET THE PINS OUT CAN ANYONE HELP ME

Roy Cruz says:

Great how to video, had a question what if I didn’t have my shifter in
neutral. I think its in 4th gear so when I put the shifter all back
together it won’t shift at all. Do you know how to align the gears inside
trans so it will be in neutral? thanks man

Steffen Albright says:

i had to remove the shifter inorder to drop my transmission in my driveway
today to change out a broken slave cylinder. this helped me get there,
thank you

Jesse J says:

I cannot get my pins out. Do you know what i may be doing wrong? I tried to
tap them out with a hammer and screwdriver.

Joseph Wilkins says:

If there is no nut then just tap it out. I’m not sure what the size is tho

Chris Loucks says:

What is that kit called? I think this may be one of my transmission
problems in my 91 Ranger

Joseph Wilkins says:

@jonaskey very welcome

Bunkers101 says:

Great vid, no offence, but this only works on a few ford ranger, your set
up is WAY dif then my 1984 ford ranger, 2wd with over drive, just sayin.

dangerline95 says:

Will this be the same on my 1993 Ford ranger 4×4 5spd?

Ryan Weger says:

It obviously is only gonna work for some rangers, and that would be the
rangers that have the Mazda 5 speeds in them. You guys should do some damn
research for yourselves and stop hating. Great video man, I’ve had to do
mine in my 1990 ranger with the Mazda tranny. But I didn’t have a kit that
nice, where’d you find that one?

Joseph Wilkins says:

@Homie0809 Glad I could help. 🙂

Joseph Wilkins says:

@r0ckworthy You MUST pull the shifter out put it in neutral then reinstall
the shifter. Theres no other way

Joseph Wilkins says:

@michael myers Very welcome

Nick Errico says:

Mine’s the same year, lol. I’m changing the clutch because the previous
owner put in a racing clutch and shifting is a bitch. Then I find this
issue today (and thank you for the video, it’ll help me in a couple of
days.) And the linkage needs to be adjusted, I think. This truck really
isn’t worth the time and money, I swear.

michael myers says:

Been trying to fix my truck for over 4 months and did not know how to fix
it. now i do thanks.

Joseph Wilkins says:

@MCRRocksForEternity Oh yes. They just tap right in

greener99 says:

Super helpful, thanks dude!

Joseph Wilkins says:

@Steffen Albright glad I could help

Joseph Wilkins says:

@David Paugh The kit I bought was for a ford ranger. Ford rangers and Mazda
b2300 are very similar. This is only for the round body rangers. Older
rangers I have no clue. I only know for the Mazda b2300 I had.

Joseph Wilkins says:

94. Crappiest year ever made lol

Joseph Wilkins says:

Lol it really isn’t. I sold mine about 2 years ago. All the exhaust valves
weren’t seated and it had a miss more toward low Rpms. It had hardly any
power at all (proly because of the valves). I sold it for 1200 and bought a
92 Mazda b2200 the next day. Still driving it

Chris Loucks says:

I wanna know how the hell you where able to get them screws out. I can’t to
save my life.

FSBARAK says:

Thanks. I didn’t want to just go beating on them, then find out there was
some little trick that made ’em fall out. Been there, done that, got the
broken parts to prove it.:) Now I’m a bit older, I’ve learned to ask first.
Sometimes.

Joseph Wilkins says:

@cmlbeatlefreak Which screws? Everything on mine was very easy

Joseph Wilkins says:

@Woodrow Ellenburg sweet glad I helped you out
