This video walks step-by-step through the process of how to install the CURT class 2 trailer hitch #12170 and class 3 trailer hitch #13315 on a 2020 Mazda CX-5. It covers the tools needed and the steps involved in the installation, such as removing the plastic underbody panel beneath the rear bumper, lowering the exhaust, removing the wiring harness attached to the frame rails, taping the washers into position on the inside of the hitch side plates, routing the fish wires and threading the carriage bolts. It also shows how to raise the hitch into position, thread on the flange nut to hold the hitch into place, torque all hardware to the specified values, and reattach the removed wire harnesses.
