I have a mazda 3 it does 800km on a full tank long distance highway
driving. City/suburban driving 400km
it does neither unfortunately :/ common misconception, you could get a cold
air intake it would do that for you.
does it actually make the car faster? is the gas mileage the same?
500kms per my Audi A4 B6 3.0 can do 750kms with 100kg+ adults with the boot
fully loaded
I’d say the performance is the same, the sound is slightly more throaty
however for ease of not having to purchase another filter ever again (I
clean it once or twice a year) I would say its very worth it. The Gas
mileage is better but not by much. Replacing sparkplugs helped the mileage
a lot more.
The K&N Filter in this video comes pre-oiled out of the box. Most K&N
replacement dropin filters are pre-oiled although not all. Check the K&N
website FAQ for more info. If you are doing this with the K&N filter
#33-2293 NO ADDITIONAL OIL required prior to install.
Is there a significant sound difference in doing this? It’s somewhat hard
for me to tell with my crappy phone speakers.
Not bad, about 500kms per tank, mostly highway driving.
how is the gas mileage ?
No point of a sound comparison if you just swap filters, now if you go from
stock air intake to cold air or short ram air intake…then do a sound
comparison.
