Lotus Exige V6 Cup: Stripped Down And Hardcore – XCAR

We thought the Lotus Exige was the most hardcore car Lotus made. We were wrong. The Exige V6 Cup is a stripped out, hardercore version of the already pretty …

really if Lotus won’t make it to the US i think i really should move to
europe with that crappy weather:( this car is like Corvette’s little
brother! i love it we don’t have this type of cars nowadays :(

Great video guys!

Harris says:

Trying way too hard with the camera work

idh0530 says:

Is this car coming to the US?

Logan L says:

This would be a much better car with a Honda J-Series in it.

The Zone says:

Looks like a tiny Dodge Viper

Frozen Canuck Patrick James says:

When is the new esprit coming out?

iwbrja says:

Don’t get me wrong, I love that it has no interior and that it’s a true
driver’s car; but why is it so expensive with zero creature comforts?

Doesn’t the new Alfa 4C have comparable engine performance, it’s a few
hundred pounds lighter with its all carbon fiber tub, it has a fully decked
out interior, and it costs less than an Exige???

Tunawhore says:

The gear shift is NOT sharper, the power delivery is the same, so identical
in fact the Lotus ECU is programmed to hold back throttle so they can sell
you a power “upgrade” later. It doesn’t brake or drive any different to the
standard Exige. What you have been experiencing is simply two different
tyres: a P-Zero Corsa on the standard car and a P-Zero Trofeo on the CUP
car.

BennyTheWoo says:

I like you videos, I really do. However, I can’t see how I can be expected
soak up all that you say about incremental performance increases or
engineering alterations etc if you simply don’t know how to push a car
really hard while retaining capacity to “feel” it.
Your vids would really benefit if you could have a good solid crack. Either
that, or stick to daily drivers, which is okay too.

Soprano313 says:

Sad to hear this won’t be coming to the US. Hopefully it will be in a DLC
pack in the near future on Gran Turismo 6 though!

capturedbytee says:

Cruised about in this video.

647killa says:

Lotus makes the best drivers cars period. If you don’t agree, then you
ain’t a true purist or petrolhead. Lightweight, Manual box, rear wheel
drive, little to no computer intervention, small engine with adequate
power, and driver focused controls and character. What more could a car
junkie want? Awesome video XCAR !!

jayfulf says:

Just an FYI, there is an Exige V6 Cup R… Also, with the recently
announced LF1, shouldn’t that be their flagship?

ewt415 says:

So unfortunate we don’t get these in the U.S.

andriolo says:

Mark 3 MR2 + 2GR v6 swap + complete suspension, wheel/tire and brake
upgrade and you get this car for a third of the price. (just not with the
good looks)

MrMagnificentMedia says:

I love that spoiler!

Marco Raffaelli says:

Looks like the dude from Linkin park

dan dickow says:

I see a lot of “s2000” in the front-end.

TheRaguORagula says:

I want one now…

kelly hatcher says:

his reviews blow

Karbis S says:

Love everything about this Lotus except for the price.. costs around
$100,000…?? RIP OFF!! Rather get a Porsche GT3 RS.. a used 08 or 09 GT3
with manual transmission costs around $90,000 even $80,000 these days..

Woo Cheol Shin says:

I bet the first thing new Exige owners will do is to replace that ugly-ass
exhaust tip.
