I bought my second Elise dirt cheap because I knew the guy from The Aussie Elise website. New Crate engine at 50K with a modified cam and redone head gasket. Carbon fibre interior, Quick release racing steering wheel, Quantum one Coil overs, New stainless exhaust toe link upgrade etc etc. also being very dry there isnt a scrap of rust or corrosion anywhere.

While I definitely feel Ed did an excellent job, the new guy isn't bad….we all just like Ed because he was the original mechanic. I wish them all great success.

Muckman says:

wait, was that shock installed upside-down lol ?

caribman10 says:

Got a better idea: let's see you "engineer" an Elise so that you can actually drive it, regularly, every day for a month. Truly, I dare you.

anton oudenhoven says:

Nice to see all the new parts going on the car.
The only thing i dont like its bolted on a pile of rust lol.

Rey Fernandez says:

I Miss you Edd.

Ed is back????

Ian Turner says:

What makes Ed think he can set up a Lotus better than either Roger of Matt Becker (father and son) , the two men who were responsible for far the handling of this magnificent car? That's like me deciding I am better managing a football club than….. whomever! So good was Matt that, after his father retired Matt was poached by Astons for a sizeable sum and he's now the head of Engineering! Many would happily say that those two are/were the best chassis set-up men in the country, if not, the world! Sorry Ed, you're a nice guy but….. I think I'll leave my Elise as Matt and Roger left it….. they knew more than you do, Ed!

neil bateman says:

does anyone know who did the flowing and porting on the cylinder head please ?

Daniel Dravot says:

A follow-up, with the head re-fitted, would’ve been appropriate.

As this ends we’ve got a car with black accents, a presumably properly set-up suspension, and no source of power.

Personally I think black tires on black wheels are boring.

GrossmeisterB6 says:

That lifting on the rear suspension pickup points isn't correct, and you CAN re-use the head bolts (but only the newer ones after meausuring actual length).
