Junkman, Mike Phillips, Mike Pennington, and Greg Masterson are my favorite
guys to learn from!

Minutemadex says:

How much would it cost me to let my car completely get polished by someone
like this? I own a BMW 1-series and the previous owners had some cats that
climbed on top of it and now theres loads of small scratches on there and
I’m interested to know how much it would cost to let someone fully polish
and wax and do anything thats necessary to make my carpaint look like new
again. Does anyone has an idea what the price will be like? Thanks in
advance for the replies.

blkgixxerslvr says:

Seriously? And no one finds this a little anal? There are like 23 steps
just to put the compound on the pad…..

William Petro says:

Hey +Chemical Guys do you have to use this type of buffer? Or can I use a
10″ random orbiting buffer?

balvirmand says:

can i wash the microfiber cloth ?

joe bennett says:

If you had no hands….could you still talk?

danlc95 says:

The Hex Logic pads are much easier to center than the CCS.

lilredjettdiwagon says:

Thank you!!

Chilly7170 says:

good stuff Greg.

Jon Car says:

This is how you do it. You have to clay the area first before you start to
polish. I posted that video last week. I used Jet seal for the last
coat.

Joseph Wright says:

I want my spinach to look great too, lol.

theyermany says:

Awesome job and technique. Do you sell this buffing machine, the buffing
pads and the V-Line of polishes or could I buy them in Autozone??

JaysDetail San Antonio Tx says:

hey greg thats not a square LOL good video. ALso what kind of external mic
is that?

Alonso Chavez says:

Hey Greg I have a question! How do you know when to use the WHITE pad with
V38 and when to use the BLACK pad with V38? Thanks for taking the time. I’m
a big fan!

Chemical Guys says:

The model is Listed in the Title. Porter-Cable 7424XP

Chemical Guys says:

Its is VERY important that the pad is centered on the machine. If the pad
is not centered, it can cause excess vibration and cause pre-mature wear on
the machine. Once you put the pad on the machine a few times, its almost
like slapping it on because you’re used to installing it. Practice makes
perfect.

DirtyIobster says:

I got a question… just after the car is ready and you take it outside,
someone drives at the roadside ripping up dust – would you recommend a
baseball bat or a good set of pliers?

Russell Kasem says:

I have a quick question for ya! How do you know how aggressive of a
compound to start with on a car. I have an 08 Jetta SE Black with some
swirls and sunspots on the hood and roof. Should I start with V34?

alcm420 says:

so ill be purchasing v36 and v38 for my grand prix white s2000 what wax or
sealant would you recommend to get a great shine and protection?

5AMOH says:

I’ve made a mistake waxing the car first then polishing. WHAT DO I DO???

Felix Hernandez says:

I noticed you only used conditioner on the first pad. Guess its not that
important.

John A says:

GREAT video! This helps me a lot. I used to be quite sceptical when
considering polishing the car myself. Now though, I feel much safer and
I’ll probably get myself the Porter Cable 7424XP ^^ Thanks!!

freak227z says:

Are these optical polishes safe for my fresh painted areas???

horayforjoe says:

When you attach the pad to the backing plate, how important is it that the
pad be exactly centered? All the videos I’ve seen make it look like people
just slap the pad on there.

Nickhead87 says:

The PC 7424XP is an awesome machine, but it vibrates something crazy on
speed 6. I literally couldn’t handle it, lol. I keep the handle on when I
need, but using the handle on speed 6 wore the life out of my right hand,
nearly. I just use speed 5, maybe a touch above, and I got some really
great results on my 2007 Mazda3. The paint is pretty much flawless.

Chemical Guys says:

You need to start with the least abrasive polish. I personally start with
V36, because it removes the swirls and the scratches most of the time. If
you need more abrasive, you can always step up to V34…. But its best to
start with the least aggressive polish. -Greg@CG

jluisbravo says:

so I just ordered a scratch and swirl remover, P40 polish, butter wax, and
JetSeal 109 from chemical guys. Do I have to order these new V34,36,38
product? or will the products I ordered work really good?

Shehar2 says:

Awesome video – thanks!

Chemical Guys says:

Always work in a 2×2 area. You will achieve better results working on a
smaller area at a time.

gotgino says:

Could you stop at the first polishing step, will the paint already look
perfect or near perfect? Or do you still have to jewel the paint? Also,
could you use the V36 with the polishing pad? Thanks

kfactor99 says:

Wait hold up. The medium swirl remover removes medium swirls? You don’t say

Israel Mora says:

I’d like you guys to take notice

Chemical Guys says:

I would recommend a Big Ol’ Stick 🙂

AaronMobileDetailing says:

Nice tutorial. The entire thirty series line of products are great. I
especially love V38. Works like lotion. Easy to work in, easy to wipe off.

CasaDeGomez says:

Thanks for the tips guys

Try it on a reasonably worn finish. I use my porter cable for waxing

Wes Odum says:

Quick question… I have already done a full in depth exterior detail on my
car last year which included compounding it with a wool pad. The question I
have, is there a limit to how much I can do regarding how much I can work
with the paint to remove swirls and scratches?

durmz says:

hello from the uk, recently purchased your range of polish and pads. using
v36 on a green 5.5″ pad and couldn’t get the polish to go clear, also got a
very small level of correction, Ive ordered an orange pad, will I get
significantly more correction? if not ile perhaps go v34. thanks

Delirium1712 says:

can you guys show us on a car that is older and has deep scratches and
oxidation?

D Wilson says:

Watch it again, he told us twice at the begining. It’s a Porter Cable, i
can’t remember which model#.

hefty88 says:
