I meant,do you think the problem is because it was not an OEM one,and thus
flawed,or is the problem a partially blown head gasket? I had engine
misfire from bad ignition coils on several occassions. So I don’t know what
caused the repeat failure of the bottle. This is now my third one being put
in.

I had same issue. I replaced thermostat and housing.Original bottle cracked
from overheating. Put in one from ebay for $75,and it blew after 3 months.
Good a factory one from Ford, and cap and hoses for $240. The factory one is
thicker plastic I think. Any ideas?

When I first replaced my tank it was because it was cracked. Yours might
also be cracked.

Check your hoses in that area. I had the same problem and noticed a hose
leaking. I replaced that hose and that fixed the problem.

Good video. My car doesn’t over heat but all the fluid drains from the
bottle. Funny this is li looks like its leaking from the front by the water
pump. Any suggestions?

Great vids man I’ve been following you for a while and enjoy watching ur LS
videos cuz I own one myself but I think I might have to do this now because
it just leaks now I parked and all my radiator coolant was on the floor did
not spill from the cap part but seemed to come out from the overflow from
the recovery tank any idea why this happened..?

Charles Ayala says:

the degas bottle is the first thing you check when overheating, aside from
coolant level and obvious things like that. NEVER BUY DORMAN bottles, ONLY
OEM
