John Gilson says:

I must have had crappy Lincoln logs when I was a kid because the eves were
made of plastic. Great video David

Matt Diresta says:

Awesome.

Above the Shop Studios says:

David! These are brilliant! Cheers, Joel (:

krtwood says:

Lemme guess, Chuck was supposed to make the thunderbird but he never showed
up.

Darbin Orvar says:

Great video, Dave. It’s so much fun building those model houses. Are you
hanging that thing up in a tree, or what? That would look cool.

Zac Higgins says:

That’s one of the best project ideas I’ve seen in a long time! Oh, and the
birds in my neighborhood drive Pontiac Firebirds. And I love the dip stain
technique. It’s way better than messing with brushes or towels.

Summers Woodworking says:

Awesome. You should have entered in the contest man!

J.L.M. says:

I imagine that the eves would need to be made in a different way if the
intent were to use these for play. A catch at the bottom of each would keep
the roof slats from falling off.

Backyard Woodworking says:

Very nice build on the logs I’m not sure the birds will like it though.

KSFWG says:

Bird bird. Bird is the word….

Great build! Best of luck with the contest!

rokhstar says:

This a cool project 🙂 But wont the birds need any light – other from the
door? :)

Dustin Penner says:

.do you have an affiliate link for that glue bottle?

RJBWoodTurner says:

What a fun idea,
I wish my kids still played with Lincoln Logs. There getting to old for
them.

regards,
Bob

Drunken Woodworker says:

In this week’s video I show how to make a birdhouse (with garage) out of
homemade Lincoln Logs!

Jim Coogan says:

Great video Dave. And the birdhouse looks cool. My next projects, after
finishing my adventure with my stairs, are for my grandson so I am
building a Lego box, a birdhouse, a pirate chest, and of course a whole
bunch of Lincoln logs. Loved those logs when I was small. Had 4 brothers
so we had a ton of those things. Unfortunately I think quite a few were
lost to a fire in the back yard that we “accidentally” started that also
melted a few Army men standing guard. It involved a chemistry set I got
for Christmas and a plan to make flares for the Army soldiers. Didn’t work
out well.

Joshua Webb says:

Great idea. I have 4 kids (I know how you love kids). This will save me
enough for a new table saw. Lol

Stew Pidass says:

Awesome! Great video! Do you think it would make things any easier if you
first cut the datos across a length of the 3/4 stock, then rip them into
the 3/4 x 3/4 logs?

imafiguresk8r says:

Is the car painted Canary Yellow? :-)

Paul Desmond says:

This is great David. Gonna make some of these for my kids and show ’em how
we built stuff when we were kids.

Marcelo Gouveia says:

Thunderbird looool, cool!!!! Nice project, i loved =D

Stephen Brockhoff says:

Liked, and shared. Thanks!

ThePillenwerfer says:

You learn something every day. I’m English and thought that a Lincoln Log
was a type of candy bar.

Ross Copper says:

Great video and project, I am building a set from your plans, I am almost
done with them. Thank you for the great videos and the great projects,
pleas keep them coming.

SyncA says:

Why didn`t you make the slots before cutting the individual logs? Much
easier on a bigger workpiece and less chipout.

John Becker says:

Off to get a 3/4″ dado bit. Awesome work.

B Davis says:

Great video have to let our mutual friend Mr.Potts know you inspired me to
make this for my kids.
Even though my wife can’t stand stepping on them.

12Newyorkk says:

David, why did you use your router table to make your dados instead of just
using your table saw to make them?

iCONAN1 says:

I love your show but your theme song gets annoying. Just my opinion. :)

Elizabeth Trainer says:

Are you insane man?!

Noble909 says:

Why not dado large pieces first then cut them out? Seems easier.

Christopher Bayer says:

Anyone have some non toxic, kid safe finishes and colouring they could
recommend for wooden toys?

Laney Shaughnessy says:

Awesome Project David!!!

Peter Brown says:

That came out really nice! Cool idea David!

Jack Houweling says:

Very nice David, the birds will be happy!

Carl Jacobson says:

Very cool David, that’s a great looking bird house.

Dominic Bender says:

I never even know these existed. If I can persuade them to actually use
them, I will make some for my girls. Thanks for sharing, David!

Steve French says:

Meh, this project’s for the birds… I love it though! Very cool, David.

RoboCNC Frees- & Graveerwerk says:
