Lincoln mkS " Check Rear Park Aid " Error Repair | Rear Parking Aid Speaker

Why does the Rear Parking Aid Sensor Speaker and Parking Aid Modules fail so often? In this video I diagnose and replace the reverse parking aid speaker. I also provide the location of the Parking Aid Module (PAM) for reference on the 2009 Lincoln mkS. DIY car repair with @JCM Fix.

Excellent job, the stealership would want a 1000 bucks to fix that.

I just got a 2014 mks for my first car. Do you have any ideas what I can look for to find what the issue is with my front two speakers (no sound) and the usb ports/sd card reader don't have power/read?

Blue Mist says:

Very informative video! One thing to note is that you might also have a problem with one of the sensors. You can check this by putting the car in revers, putting the e-brake on or having somebody hold down the brake. Then you go to the back and listen to each sensor. If you hear a rapid, electronic clicking, then it is working. If you do not hear that, there is a sensor problem. Also, if you are just wanting to clear the code and not necessarily worried about the speaker working, just use the buttons to the left of the steering wheel, right under the light control. You should be able to use either setup>reset or input>reset to make the sensor light go away. Overall a very good video. I fixed mine with the buttons, but I will likely replace the speaker as well.

Note: I have a 2010 Ford Fusion, not a Lincoln mkS. Much of it seems to be similar, I am not sure if every single thing that I said carries over or not.

Jesus is Muslim says:

Amazing… So much to remove just for 1 small speaker…
