You mention that the vehicle won’t start if the factory stereo is removed. I am concerned about this as I will be replacing my factory unit with an aftermarket one. Will I have issues with the car starting after this is done? In what way does the car stereo tie into the ignition system? Do ordinary wiring harnesses resolve this issue automatically?

We attempt to label every video correctly. In some cases removal videos may work for other years. We don’t update the video until we are able to verify the process.

Matthew Jenkins says:

Could you please tell me if the same dismantling process would work with the 03 Lincoln LS?

boblizcou says:

Try the “Reset”, disconnect and reconnect the battery after 5-10 minutes. This may bring it back to working.

I just bought a 02 LSE and there’s a DVD stuck in the 6 disc player. Do I have to go through that whole process or is there a easier way to get it out? Thank you for the video , I learned a lot.

I found it to be a lot easier to bring the gear shift all the back to D1 to remove the ashtray and the radio. Its an extra step but it is a lot easier to work.

I also have a 2002 LSE and my clock spring went out as well, seems to be a common problem with these cars. When I bought mine it already had an after market stereo and I have yet to replace the clock spring and my stereo works fine… If you’re looking for a clock spring I’ve found it’s a lot cheaper to purchase a air bag replacement kit that comes with a clock spring instead of purchasing the clock spring itself.

My Lincoln LSE 2002 Stereo is dead and I wanna change it to after market stereo. would you be able to tell me if there is any particular type or brand of wiring harness I need to buy, Also can I fix the factory stereo also my clock spring went out first before my stereo went dead so you think it might be because of clock spring? Thank You
