If anything breaks in your cars its made to
It doesnt make sense but it makes profit

Why dont they engineer parts better because it assures job security and
parts sales and look at all the cars these days theyre made of pastic
everywhere

tony Branza says:

Air bags are easy to remove take battery cables off leave for 5 mins then
do whatever u want safley when u install battery make shure all plugs
&wireing is connected then hook negative first then possitive all should be
good i replaced plenty srs systems srs ecms shock sensors never had problem
just think dont rush and double check use your brains or youtube vid. Lol

Very helpful video. The #6 hose clamp is genius! I own a Mark VIII w/ the
same issues. The Ford engineer should be fired for designing such crappy
engineering! I’ve know plenty of Linc owners that had to repair this
cracked/broken cheap plastic piece. You would think paying over $45K for a
new vehicle would not come w/ these hassles!

Richard Dillard says:

I actually used an 8 mm ignition wrench because they are small. And yes, it
was difficult to fit my hands in there. I used my fingers tips to wrench
it. It took a long time :).

BigCHE99 says:

Did you pull down your dash?

Richard Dillard says:

Yes there is always a risk when removing air bags. If you are unsure of how
to safely do it, you need to contact someone who is.

Raymond09871 says:

The ‘recirculate’ button isn’t working in my 2006 Luncoln. Is the repair
fir that similair to this video? (The button lights when pressed but no
change in airflow)

fredsac37686 says:

@BigCHE99 your car has old style case and door has metal shaft the clicking
is the acuator and u will need to pull dash back i do these in about 50
minutes

manfriend says:

This is a very temporary fix. Eventually the door will break.

Dana Bourland says:

Is there a danger in removing the passenger air bag? Did you remove the
fuse first. I’ll have to figure out how to remove the air bag, then I think
I can follow your directions just fine. Thank you so much for helping. I’ve
been messing with this all morning!

TJ FICK says:

Thank you for the video . How many bolts were holding in the passenger side
airbag ?

lynwoodloco77 says:

Thank you for this instruction video, I took my dash apart just how you did
in the vid problem is my hands are too dam big to work the wrenches or 1/4
inch ratchet and 8mm sockets in there. Great fix for the tube mine is
broken on both sides, I was trying to wrap the hose clamp without taking
off the bda but it wouldn’t go around, I’m going to blow all the dust off
while I’m in there so I don’t have problems again right away. How about
sparaying a little lube on that tube would that help out?

fredsac37686 says:

temp repair plastic is fatiged i would not want to warranty

Dana Bourland says:

I can’t figure out if the opening you’re working in is behind the glove box
or not. It looks like you’re working behind the passenger side air bag. I
can’t see the exhaust like in the picture with just the glove box out. Help
me locate where I need to be.

Jose Tellez says:

Man i wish you would of zoomed out a little bit to see the complete dash or
even just panned across to give a better visual. This helped me for nothing
for any kind of instructional removal of dash either. So sad that this is
the only one for this car also.

Richard Dillard says:

Yes, I had to remove the passenger air bag

Richard Dillard says:

and remove some duct work

5150jafo says:

I fixed my moms Lincoln based on your video. Can’t thank you enough. You
saved my mom a $1000 based on what the local Ford dealer wanted to pull
dash and replace.

Frank connors says:

hello very nice video just wish the video was abit clearer i have a
question this, are steps different for a Lincoln town car 1994 because the
dash board set up is changed. i have a clicking noise coming out of my dash
from its seems the middle and the cold and hot air work still but sometimes
they get stuck. when the air is turned on it clicks louder. now i dont know
if its the blend door or the hose thing you where u added the clamp
casino93@aol.com thanks alot

Richard Dillard says:

I did not pull down the dash. I just removed the duct work that was
blocking access
