hey Scotty, wanted to know how much you would charge for front strut change?
Problem is the don't sell quick struts for my car so I need to bring it to a shop for them to assemble it. So I need to buy new struts, mounts, springs, and bushings.
Scotty, I am an experienced mechanic as welland have a good sense for torqueing bolts by feel but, for pete's sake, use a torque wrench wherever you can. I always use a torque wrench on anything on the car that can result in catastrophic failure if a bolt either breaks or loosens and falls out. Over-tightening a bolt repeatedly reduces its strength.
Hey scotty, I have front struts that have the two bolts on the bottom to mount. However it looks like they are both set to the right (passenger) side, how to I rotate that bracket to fit on the left (driver) side.?
Are the struts interchangeable left with right side? I mean, after installing the new shocks I could see the whole struts slightly bent at an angle at their top before installing them on the car. This is because of the spring endings, I believe?
Please advise.

is there a lot of sizes for struts? like for example, Nissan has their own struts made, toyota has owned too, honda has too. i don't know this all… or do we only have few sizes and brand?… please help…
I have nissan elgrand and I need to replace its struts and its shock. my problem is, most Mechanic told me that its hard to find its sizes. but I checked, it looks the same from other brand. I'm not sure of it. please help. its like i'm driving near the floor when fully loaded and I don't want to be fooled by Mechanics who just want to earn money.

just because you have been a mechanic for 40+ years doesn't mean that you can get them bolts to the spec with a regular ratchet…

hi Scott y Kilmer I can't seem to find quick struts for my vehicle it's an 07 hyundai veracruz, I can only find the strut by itself, and autozone doesn't carry them what should I do
