I hope this is the case with my hubby’s ’97 Blazer. Thanks for the
tutorial!
this would be a job for the knipex pliers wrench.
I’m replacing mine on my 89 Sierra this weekend. Thanks for the great
advice. My wallet thanks you! I bought the kit at my local Autozone. Just
hoping it doesn’t rain!
Wow, that was great. I have the same issue with my s -10. Saved me a
ton….thanks for the info
I liked your video, and very well explained. The only thing is that when
your head got in the way of the view of what your were explaining, that was
a little annoying. but over all the instructions were very good. thank you
for sharing…now to go and look at my 97 Chevy Silverado.
Yup, got a blazer same thing im going through. Thanks for the vid!
I have a ’97 blazer. Same hinge assembly. It’s welded to the vehicle. But
one of the holes is ovaled out badly. How can I go about saving the door?

fixable

Thanks for taking the time to video this. It is exactly what I needed to
fix my door.
Very good ,Very informative, but thought the flange part of bushing goes
between the hinge plates as a kind of thrust bushing. am I wrong? thanks
Dan
Thank you for showing us this!
no spring action
thanks for the vid
thanks. I’ll get the pin and bushing at the parts store.
I have a ’95 Lincoln Town Car and I was told that I not only need to
replace the pins but also the hinges. How difficult is it to get in through
the dash? Do I need to to disassemble the whole drivers side dash or just
the bottom piece? Could I just drill them like you mentioned here?
I replaced the hinge pins and bushings on my ’93 S10 which went pretty easy
except the spring which presses against the cam arm to hold the door
partially open was challenging to re-install.
I am certain that the factory uses a spring compression tool to install the
spring, but I had to get a bit more creative. I compressed the spring in a
vise then used .041″ safety wire to hold the spring compressed, then
inserted it in place.and cut the safety wires with the door partially shut
to partially compress the spring.
This worked pretty well, getting the safety wire bits left in the spring
out was the only minor annoyance.
thank you, i’m working on my 2000 jimmy door now… thanks for the tip…
