Hi Gordon, I have a navigator 03 with a factory starter, I loose my remote, I buy one on eBay and say was compatible with the navi, I try to program but no luck, any suggestions ??

Carlos David says:

thank you very much, good job.

Gordon Cook says:

There is no reprogram for the keyless entry pad, please see my other broadcast. so…you don’t have the actual code or the system is inoperative. Check the hinges for the deck lid for a small white sticker with 5 digits printed on it, that is the code. Hope the sticker lasted 20 years.

cruisethewhip says:

how about reprograming the keyless entry pad on a 93 towncar.. i have the code but it doesnt work pleaseeee help!!!

martha alvarez says:

It worked on my second try thank u very much

Gordon Cook says:

The LS is the oddball….you must take your car to the dealer to have the remotes programed.

Keith Nelson says:

xxXrichmanXxx says:

Will it work with after market remotes?

Gordon Cook says:

Please try the process several times, starting the car and turning it off, opening and closing the drivers door inbetween ignition cycles. If it still doesn’t work…visit your local Ford/Lincoln dealer.

gummy237 says:

I did this on my 2000 Navigator and it didnt work what do i do now?

gummy237 says:

*navigator

gummy237 says:

It works on 2000 navif

Gordon Cook says:

No, the LS requires software to program. Visit your local Lincoln dealer.

Dylan Smith says:

I have an 2004 Lincoln LS would this work with it?

adventureoflinkmk2 says:

Actually on a 2004 MGM you key cycle from OFF to RUN FOUR times instead of eight. I made a video on it…

Gordon Cook says:

It should

adventureoflinkmk2 says:

Does this also work on the 2004 grand marquis gs?

Gordon Cook says:

I followed up on your concern. Only two things could be wrong, 1. the remote is no good. 2. The security module in the car is no good. Since it seems that you have determned the remote is good…get the car to a good technician.

mora0726 says:

Hello hopefully you could help me with my situation. I recently bought a 2007 ford mustang, it only came with one key (no remote), I bought a remote from an authorized ford dealer and followed your video and it didn’t work. The car will go on its programming and the remote just won’t program. I know the remote works b/c I tried it on another car and it worked. If you could help I’d really apreciate it. Thank you!

fordgolfer25 says:

Okay if you find out could you let me know? Thanks. By the way i love ford vehicles i was just wandering cause on of my friends has a extra gmc remote.
-Ford For Life 🙂

Gordon Cook says:

I don’t know. Never tried, never had a reason.

fordgolfer25 says:

Okay thanks. Would a gmc truck remote work on a ford?

Gordon Cook says:

Possibly…especially if they are Mark LT remotes. F150 remotes are usually 3 button and most Lincoln remotes are 4 or 5 button. Therefore…most Lincoln remotes will not work with your Ford F150.

fordgolfer25 says:

Will Lincoln remotes work on my 2002 f150 ? If so is it the same process. BTW my f150 is the super crew lariat

iSaVaGe408 says:

Ok thank you.

Gordon Cook says:

No…the LS is the only car that requires an IDS to program. Take your car to the local Ford/Lincoln dealership.

iSaVaGe408 says:

This work on a 2003 Lincoln LS?

cooperman930 says:

Just wanted to say THANK YOU for posting this video instruction, … It was very easy to follow, and it worked like a charm for me.

Gordon Cook says:

God can help you. I’m going to suggest that you take the car to the Ford/Lincoln dealer and have a certified technician properly diagnose your concern. There are numerous thing that could have gone wrong with the battery install, let alone components that fail on 10 year old cars. As experienced as I am, I cannot diagnose concerns over the internet.

robert maple says:

GOD I HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME i bought a 2002 Lincoln towncar and it drove fine i replaced the battery do to it was the org one but nothing was wrong with it just old after replacing it the car will not start at all i checked the fule rail and no gas comes out and the reset for the fule pump did not trip any ideas ? the car is in exelent shape now a paper weight to me

Soundmonkey0 says:

Turns out that the remote I was sent was faulty. It was transmitting RF, but it had the wrong PC board in the shell for my car. I got a different remote and it programmed in about 2 seconds like it is supposed to.

drunkendJesus says:

I just watched this and have to give kudos to Costa Mesa Lincoln Mercury for posting this. I know a lot of dealers love making the quick $50 per remote to do a programming. Putting this simple video just saved a whole lot of people money that could have ended up in less scrupulous dealer’s pockets! Good Job guys!

Gordon Cook says:

You can clear the DDM by entering the program mode. No computer necessary. Based on the information provided you have a remote problem. Check with the parts department to make sure the remoted you have are compatible with your vehicle.

Soundmonkey0 says:

I tested the remote at a parts house, the test receiver showed that it was transmitting RF.
When I put the car into programming mode and hit a button nothing happens. The remote I had (which I lost) worked fine.
I have been told by multiple techs that you can only program 4 remotes before they have to clear the ddm with the computer.

Gordon Cook says:

If the system goes into programming mode the module should be OK and the problem is with the remotes. I have never seen a “reset” on a security module. I have seen a module that will not go into the programming sequence that was unplugged and then plugged back in and then it worked. Hope this helps. I shared your post with several Ford Senior Master Technicians and thier opinion was the same.

Soundmonkey0 says:

I’m having the same issue with a 2001. From what I understand, you can only program up to 4 remotes. When I contacted a dealer, they told me that I had to bring my car in so they could reset the module via the shop computer. Not sure of the validity of that, I’m kind of wondering if there is a way to do that myself.

718shooter says:

nope i cycled the key 8-10 time and nothing happend,,,

Gordon Cook says:

It’s one of two things…Bad batteries or wrong remotes

Jahon Paeth says:

Whoops, read the wrong username. That was a question meant for @costamesalm. Car goes into programming mode but remotes do not program. Any suggestions?
