The door handle may have broke. You could take the door panel off to see if
you can reattach the rods to the handle. If you need a new handle we carry
them on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Unfortunately the rods are not adjustable. What the issue could be is the
latch from over time is not catching correctly and is taking extra distance
to actually release correctly.
