Would this be about the same process for a 2002 Continental?
Apparently it’s the regulator itself, inside the “spool.” That’s what’s kinking it.
You may have to see what’s coming into contact with the wire and possibly secure it out of the way.
Thank you for posting this. I have never worked on a window motor nor taken my Lincoln apart. I took the door panel off, and ran the motor to see what was going on and the wires are kinked and smooshed (for lack of a better word). What causes this and do I need to replace the entire assembly? The motor is running and winding the wire, but the wire is grinding on itself…window will not roll up or down.
