This past weekend something involving antifreeze literally exploded in my
engine bay and is now leaking bad (car not driveable), anyways I noticed in
the conversations below y’all were talking about the heater not blowing hot
air and that was the case with my ls (2001 v6) right before the “problem”
occurred. Do you think this heater control valve is the culprit?? I’m
really worried that this car is starting to nickel and dime me I just
changed out the pcv valve under the manifold that was causing the car the
stall and run “lean” it was a major project, major money. Please Someone
Help!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, I changed my dccv last night and disconnected the three upper hoses
with the quick disconnects. Im unsure if I lost an o ring on the quick
disconnect (the lowest one) that has the plastic elbow. do you remember if
that lower quick disconnect hose has an oring in there or does it just
click on. Thanks your videos have been a great deal of help.

i have had a problem after my coolant tank cracked i could not bleed the
car or get warm air.. did u have a similar issue and do you think this
would fix my problem? thanks

Ali Abdur-Rashid says:

Is it bolted on there? After you pull the hoses how do you take it out?

mifanointed1 says:

It could be the heater control valve. I had mine tested at a shop to make
sure that was the problem. I was showing the location of the heater control
valve because some people don’t know what it looks like and some people
don’t know the location.. Therefore I did it just the save people time.

mifanointed1 says:

I paid about $170 for mine. I had a mind to go to a salvage yard to look
for one. But I didn’t want to go through that frustrating effort of taking
one out of there and putting one in there and then finding out that the one
that I put it in there is no good.

mifanointed1 says:

It might fix your problem. I took my car to a mechanic shop to have it
tested. The person came to the conclusion that my problem was the heater
control valve. That person was correct

truebreed89 says:

What problems were you having hot air not blowing ..???

truebreed89 says:

Thanks for the response @mifanointed1…… Very helpful I located the
valve on my car and yes very tight to get to I called on the part and it
was 200 dollars so I might wait a week or two to change it how much did u
get yours for…??? I also read that that same year t-bird heater control
valve would fit like a glove on this car too n I seen alot of t-birds in
the junkyard….???!!!

truebreed89 says:

No that is very true might as well getting a brand new one is well worth it
I wasn’t expecting to be that expensive but I will replace it soon …!!!
Thank you your very helpful and I appreciate ur videos on the vehicle
…… Where did you purchase ur valve at..???

Also I own a 2000 Lincoln LS V8.. My heater and defroster dont work, my A/C
works but not the Heater & Defroster .. what would this problem be coming
from? Could it be my Heater Control Valve?.. If you have any ideas please
fill me inn..Oh yeah why were you showing where the Heater Control Valve is
located? Did you have any problems?

Philip Robinson says:

very helpful now I know exactly where it is

mifanointed1 says:

I purchased mine from the dealer. The dealer I go to give me better prices
than the parts stores most of the times. Most of the time they will reduce
the price for me.

mifanointed1 says:

. If you you look under your car you will see how many bolts are there. I
think it’s only one. Its hard for me to remember how many and I’m over 100
miles away from my car at the moment. I unhooked two of the hoses from the
top and pulled it out with those hoses.

mifanointed1 says:

Blowing air but no heat. I had a free diagnosis done to determine the
cause. After I put in the new part they heat has been blowing very good.

Great Video and very Helpful..Question: Would you know how to hook up an
Electric Cooling fan replacing the Hydraulic Cooling Fan? And how would you
bypass or what would you do with the Hydraulic Cooling fan lines and pump?
Thanks again for the great video
