Tom Jones says:

Or you could just buy the repop that doesn't exist from Christian Paul. Of courses this course may be cheaper your labor is free.

Dan O'Rourke says:

You could pour evaporust on it or get some in a gel form and just keep soaking it, I’m sure that would work, I soaked many of the rusty parts from under my corvette and it did a amazing job. I’m sure your idea would be easier but I would worry about someone else handling that flimsy metal and ruining it.

I had my 65 c-10, 67 Malibu blasted no warping my dad had 2 of his cars blasted non of them warped. I have heard about blasting warping panels, I guess we had good luck or our sandblaster who had a light enough touch. I have heard acid dipping is bad because the acid leaches out of the nooks and crannies after the panels are painted. I have a friend who acid dipped their Corvair 5 years later no paint issues. I think the ket here is to ask all the car clubs who they trust.

Ismael Casillas says:

I won't waste my time and money fixing something that will rust again. Just to the garbage and treat a new one.

Chuckee Cheese says:

This will be interesting. The only way that I can see it happening. Good luck.

TK42138 says:

Good luck with the project.

fretsman68 says:

Good thinking there, Jon! That is definitely a great way to go about it, but it will definitely be interesting to see that get welded back together. No pressure……lol!

I have to say that is a pretty good idea

Cotton Texas says:

I love to see it when things are getting done correctly. There's so much "slime it & prime it, so we can shoot it & boot it" stuff going on out there. As for standards, you've set a very high bar for yourself, and I personally find it quite enjoyable to watch your projects progress, while thinking to myself either, "I wish I could do that," or, "I just learned something!" This channel is so cool B) Thanks for bringing us along for the ride. Peace man, Cotton

Kenny says:

I love doing rust repair projects but welding on a panel that big and thin without warping it is going to be a real chore. I have an extra welding helmet so what I have done for stuff like this is have one of my kids right up next to me with the air compressor blow gun and we get into a rhythm of I do 3-5 stitches, they blow air on it for a few seconds, wash, rinse, repeat.
