guys i may be a young mechanic but there is no need to replace the trans
here lol. the problem with the e is that your 4-3 prestoke sping inside the
transmission is broken lol. just fixed my buddies yesterday lol. drain the
trans and take it off then take off the filter then take of the trans valve
solenoid lol its the prestoke spring that is broken making the trans issue.
if this help good if not im sorry but it can be fixed for 26 bucks just the
labor is time consuming if ur a diy guy
My 2000 Lincoln LS with 3.9 V8 was doing the same thing….but it wouldn’t
show the E in Park, it would show it once I have been driving for about 10
minutes. Then the car would act like it was in Neutral even though it was
still in drive. The last day I drove the car was over 3 weeks ago….I took
it to AAMCO Transmissions. My transmission died in the parking lot when I
put it in reverse….felt like I was re-ended by another car. Transmission
had to get a COMPLETE REBUILD… cost me $2,300.
Wow, still cheaper than mine. Mine was 2,700 w/o tax. My torque converter
was toast, literally toast. From the color of it, it was glowing red hot
from all the stress. Had to replace the pump, all planetary gears, bands,
servo’s, everything except the case. But good luck with the LS dude.

Ok my car has been doing they same this so where do I put the trans fluid
there’s no dipstick and I’m in need of transmission fluid.
What is your point?
So ur saying when the E light comes on ur in need of a trans..one just ce
on but is still changing out ok(I just parked it) what I to do
