never expected it to gain a lot of HP. after this POS i got the CAI with heat shield. much better. the drop in on this particular vehicle is crap. the intake box would not close. ive tried everything. was not broken either. so shortly after i got the CAI. id say the only good thing about the drop in. is so over time. it will pay for itself. for a gain of maybe 1 HP.
how is a k&n air filter a rip off? you’re the idiot expecting to gain noticeable power from just an air filter. You didn’t even get a Cold-air intake.
yea. aint worth it. upgrade to a bigger intake. theres no tune required intakes, and tune required intakes. tune required intakes let in more air, bigger tube. so im not sure what your gonna do with your car or if merc makes them.. but this thing is a rip off.
I had the same problem as well with opening it, seems like you have to be a little forceful to get it back closed and open. I think that’s just how they’re made.
I went back and look at the filter again. Using two screw drivers, I was able to pry it back together. It was NOT easy to do!
I may upgrade the exhaust to the magnaflow system, but I doubt I’ll do anything else to the intake short of a turbo. (and that’s not likely anytime soon)

Did you have any issues closing the engine filter box after installing the K&N? I tried to do mine today and I struggled with it for nearly an hour. I could not get the box to close.

im not too sure on that. I didnt replace it myself. but in summer 2010 this car had a bad overheating problem. everything went out. Hoses, Water pump. radiator. oh man. but it should be a few bucks more than an avrage car. i would look online im sure there is forums on how to do it. and mechanics can quote you on how much it would cost.
this video is widescreen… it’s HD. and crop is for 16:9 videos that were uploaded before November 24 2008 when they added the wide screen. The crop zooms in on the 16:9 widescreen. never stretch 4:3 with crop or stretch because then it gets fucked up.

I want install my new 2012 ml350 v6 gas have any problems with this K&N filter please give me advice about it .

yea i think like 3 of mine had some of the peaces that hold it in place r broke off. after 11 years and its got so much dust on em. it happens
