11:05 Excess fluid inspection and draining the pan of the old fluid
13:25 Comparing the bright pink new fluid to the old brown fluid

15:21 One more drain and fill for good measure after cycling the transmission through all the gears
16:16 Starting the car and checking the fluid level after draining and filling. Did we pump enough ATF back in?
19:05 The exact amount of fluid and dribble you want in the transmission pan
19:45 Test drive to see if the shifting is any better. Maybe? Hard to tell the LS460 is a finicky one.

Simple drain and fill ATF WS on the Lexus LS460L. The transmission temperature has to be between 95 and 108 degrees to check the level. The car had a new transmission installed at Lexus in October of 2018 with 101k miles. So this fluid is 6 years old with around 25k miles.

If no issues and simply doing for maintenance, measure what you take out and fill with same amount of new fluid. For Toyota stick with Toyota fluid and gasket and filter if dropping pans and replacing filter.

I had my local independent Toyota/Lexus shop do a drain and fill for mine at 150k miles along with coolant and diff. Hopefully I'm good until 200k. I'm still burning a quart of oil every 1k-1.5k miles. It's the only thing I keep a pretty close eye on at this point. I still keep looking for fun at 2016-2017 model years which seem to be the absolute best for the 460
